OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

I do have to add that I don't really care what party someone belongs to as long as I feel like they are the best person for the job....I've voted both sides of the aisle in my adult life but the Republicans are making it difficult to want to vote for any of their candidates as long as they appear to only want to represent rich white Christians here in Southern California and treat the rest of as as people who need to be courted for votes but are otherwise not worthy of consideration.

Perhaps I've overstepped the bounds of this thread but that woman really pisses me off and then she knocks on my door and interrupts the first weeknight I have off in 12 years.

I should get pics of the signs someone just put up in front of Premier that are telling us not to vote for "DUI Pauly".

Jack and I just ran our local Donald Trump wannabe candidate for State Assembly off my porch. She is an awful human being. Luckily for her my daughter was standing there or I would have given her a piece of my mind: http://www.ocweekly.com/news/debora...anti-muslim-controversy-in-dui-arrest-6441786

Although I did miss a chance to win an AR-15 at her fundraiser in April:

Apparently she lives here in Villa Park.
I read both articles and neither gave out what she said. I'm over here like"what's in the box?"

Well, the thing that pissed me off was her going to a local Muslim charity event and yelling things along the lines of "I know some marines that want to send you all to heaven" and how all Muslims are evil people. I'll look for some direct quotes brb

We had this happen in the ice cream shop next to where my son and I get our hair cut: http://rachfeed.com/ice-cream-store...l&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

I know it's probably tame by what happens elsewhere but this is a place where I never experienced racism and now it's becoming kind of a regular thing.

i hate to have to say this.....but it's exactly what happened in berlin in 1939. and we HAVE an asshole who is saying many of the same things, trying to become "chancelor" of america.
the 'brown shirts' ARE out there.

i'm just sayin'

I always tell people- I'm sure there were a lot of intelligent, well meaning Germans in the 1920s who shook their heads and said "Fuckin' Hitler- that idiot will NEVER be chancellor."

i'm sure there were a lot of intelligent, well meaning germans back then that got 'sucked' into the hype and then in the 50's looked back and said "what the fuck did we do?!!?"

which is likely why you can't even bring the subject up in germany today.

I agree with you on this. Going back to Clinton vs Dole. I wouldn't have been embarrassed for my country if Dole won. Some of the folks who have risen to the top of the party make me want to leave the country and say I am from Canada.

This is untrue. Germany has - to their massive credit - been very open and unflinchingly honest about all of it for a long time now. It isn't glossed over. You go to Berlin, there are reminders virtually everywhere.

Meanwhile, statues of Confederate generals abide.
