so who will be this Administration's John Dean?

early front-runner could be Paul Manafort.

You can find him under the bus.
only if manafort exposes dumpster of russian ties.
manafort is more likely to become the fall guy, at least if you have seen what went on at the hearings today. so maybe more like Ollie North.

North is a career military guy who honestly believed in what he was doing. He was willing to take the fall and protect Reagan. Will Manafort be willing to rot in prison and hope dumpster pardons him years down the road? And risk being murdered by Russia to keep him quiet? I think he's more likely to take a witsec deal.

ok....not ollie. maybe H.R. Haldeman then.

I've been in conversation with people this morning across the United States (other than here) some of which want Trump to completely fail. It's not simply businessman Trump anymore. He's tied directly to your livelihood as an American. If you don't think so look at what the stock market has been doing since he won the election. So for him to crash and burn as president means it could take your job and your retirement with him putting you in a position to start from square one. Unless of course you're personally making the purchases that your 401k or whatever retirement plan you have is being built on. If not someone else is making them and they're betting for you that America is going to continue to thrive.

The bottom line is I voted for Obama both times. Not because I loved him, but because there was no one else better to vote for. This time I voted for Trump for the same reason I voted Obama twice, because there was no one fucking better to vote for. I've been voting since I was 18 and have never not voted in an election. I will not vote for someone simply because they ride the elephant or the mule.

IMO everyone is acting like the horse pulling the cart with a carrot dangling in front them and they going exactly where they're being lead. They hate in that one direction and that's where they're being lead to. Mean while the real world is taking place right under their nose and they can't see because they believe all the direct bullshit.

I've written my elected officials a number of times about what I hate about Obama Care and there is only one thing. Only one. The fact that if I fall on hard times and loose my health care your going to fine me via the IRS. You take that part out and I don't care if we keep it or dump it. But with that in it I want it dumped.
You can't possibly be serious.

8 years of overt obstructionism by the GOP who boldly proclaimed that their ONLY focus while in Washington, was to make Obama fail. They neglected there sworn duty to serve their constituents in order to undermine and subvert the President. Not only did they try and block his every move, but they offered no solutions and no alternatives during the entire length if his Presidency.

Were you so concerned then?

Or, like the rest of the GOP and its disciples, were you cheering them on?

Give me a fucking break.

No President in our history has endured the type of targeted, purposeful malice at the hands of Congress and The Senate.

Were you under a rock when McConnell and Boehner publicly announced their promise to see Obama fail?

What's good for the goose...

May be good for the goose is good for the gander, but we never noticed how badly it worked out for the entire pond. America has been taking a beating while the kids play government.

Now, I'll agree than I'd rather see nothing go on rather than some of the initiatives coming from the GOP right now.

I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how the conservative movement in the US lost their ability to apply logic. Used to be that Engineering, Math, and other hard sciences were the place where conservative thought would exist. Hell, I probably would be considered a conservative back then. Back when facts were more important than ideology and well supported research could be used to make sound decisions. At least on a fiscal level, I get that social conservatism never really got past the old man yells at cloud stage.

Now, we have a whole movement that seems to thrive on stupid.

Some things are basic, IMO. Things like using tribal resources to maintain infrastructure to accommodate business, having regulations to make sure that no company can deal on unfair terms with the individual (within reason), making sure that the air is breathable, the water is drinkable, and the soil can be used for food for the tribe; making sure another tribe can't come over with sticks and kill our men and rape the women, maybe even making sure that the food is distributed to the tribe correctly, and the medicine men can treat all the tribe members.

All that stuff that would allow for commerce and for our tribe to become larger and move powerful.

Basically, the government, as it stands, has lost the ability to maintain the public interests. But, boy, it's working well for a very few at the top.

Not that they directly cut food for old people but you could use this for any number of things they've cut
