A morning television show (like Today) over here had a guy troll them on facebook calling them"fake news" because they refuse to report how "bad" it has gotten over in Sweden. They asked him if they could send a reporter for an interview and he agreed. They sent a team up there and had him try and prove how bad it is in Malmö. He fails spectacularly as they ask people on the street and ask him to give counterpoint.

Lol, to see this guy hemming and hawing through this thing was freaking the best thing I've seen on tv in a week.

Perhaps the debt went up under Obama's first month because of the two $1 trillion wars his predecessors put on the country's credit card. That's a lot of interest when the payments come due.

And maybe the debt went down in Trump's first month because Obama reduced the deficit by two-thirds. When you actually pay your bills instead of slashing your income, your debt goes down.

also, he used to cite anonymous sources on twitter all the time when he claimed Obama's birth certificate was a fake.

w/r/t the national debt thing, there's a few things to keep in mind...first, you're talking about a President that has yet to sign any financial laws or repeal any financial regulations that would impact the debt (though you could say that the federal hiring freeze could be considered a positive step on debt but that alone wouldn't account for appreciable reduction). Secondly, when you're talking about financial trends, a month does not mark success or failure on our national debt but is an incredibly short blip on the timeline. It's wayyyyy too soon to be taking credit or blame for anything related to the national debt w/ the current administration being at the helm in such a short time.

This. this is like people who refute global warming because the last couple weeks were chilly where they live.
 
trump says he plans to increase military spending by 54 billion. also, spend billions on the wall. also, hiring 15,000 more ice agents and border patrol.

while at the same time massive tax cuts for the wealthy.


sooooooooo huge increases in spending while adding large cuts to revenue..... by my math that means huge deficits dare i say bigly deficits. is this fiscally conservative?
