trump says he plans to increase military spending by 54 billion. also, spend billions on the wall. also, hiring 15,000 more ice agents and border patrol.

while at the same time massive tax cuts for the wealthy.

sooooooooo huge increases in spending while adding large cuts to revenue..... by my math that means huge deficits dare i say bigly deficits. is this fiscally conservative?

in this article dumpster says "no more wasted money".
huh?? he's spent more $$ in his first month on his florida vacations and protection than obama spent in his first year.

It doesn't matter what the number is 1000, 10 million. Republicans are going to continue to gerrymander and push this agenda. Democrats and third parties need to fight back. I'll be over here holding my breath.

The time to fight back was in the 1990s and 2000s when this stuff was starting. Now SCOTUS is generally fine with gerrymandering, so reversing it has to be done in the legislatures. And gerrymandering makes that a lost cause.

The more I look at American politics the more I think the Calexit people have the right idea. Why waste decades trying to get the bible belt and the midwest to come to their senses? Just split the country into thirds. New England, The West Coast, and the remaining United States. The remaining United States would be rapidly destroyed by the loss of subsidies paid for by the coasts and lost their global prominence due to not controlling world banking.

See my argument with Chad earlier in this thread. People can want to split all they want. But this won't be state against state or north against south. It'll be neighbor against neighbor.

My brother in law is in town and he lives in CA now. I can't imagine living there and still being part of the US. They pay so much revenue to the government, get less back in services and their votes count less than any other state in the union. That would sure make me want to stay part of the US.

That has been one of the biggest lies the right has been selling. They spend as much if not more than the left. They just spend it on defense and corporate welfare instead of places it needs to go like education and health care.

They definitely spend more AND they're big government cry is bullshit too. So many of the laws they propose are for more infringing on individual and state's rights than those from the left. Their laws also are clearly divisive...with the primary divide being between the uber-rich and everyone else...wanting to encourage racial and religious strife. Fuck them in the fucking meat head faces...with a bullmoose dick.

Isn't it that way now? With the divide being as large as it has ever been, chances are you and your neighbor want completely different things already. If the US splits, you at least have a chance to move to a place you could like, or stay where you are and get served what you are getting now.

The G.O.P. is not economically conservative. That apparently was one of the big gripes the Tea Party people had, but I guess they have very short term memories

"You move, I'm not moving. No, I'm not paying for you to move.*gun shots*"

I thought it was short-term intelligence with the Tea Party.

I'm sorry...I meant lack of intelligence with endless amounts of shortsightedness.

I guess the people I know and are friends with are way different than yours. All of the people I hang out with, would pack up and move to CA the second they seceded. Or any other part of the US that setup its own government that was very far left.

So they'll get shot when they get off the plane?

Is a union that would elect Trump really worth saving?

Not even a little. I'm just saying how it will go down.

It would/might be if there was any chance we could find something to unite over. We had for a bit with 9/11, but then the right went crazy right and the left mellowed out. I can't envision how to get the religious right/xenophobes to be accepting of those that are different. They can't even accept those that think differently, despite being just them in almost every other respect.

We're all sorts of fucked and it's on the GOP for letting Trump happen.

Cue the...Hillary was the worst candidate and the Dems screwed themselves folks. :thu:
