Dems elect Perez DNC Chair. Perez appoints Ellison as Deputy. Dems vote to keep corporate lobbying donations.

Dems are fucked.

well then......

I don’t think a third party has a hope of relevance right now. Republicans elected the tea party, they elected Trump, so they’re not going to vote for a party lead guys like Sanders and Ellison. All a third party will do is take votes away from Democrats. That guarantees the GOP retains control of the house and senate, and would probably allow them to take state houses and governorships they don’t already control.

I’m not sold on Ellison being a good idea for the party. The Democrats can’t beat Republican populism with Liberal populism because the Democrats don’t have an other to rally against. Trump can rally against immigrants, women, black lives matters, socialism, etc. As much as Democrats want to believe they can run against business, they can’t, because Trump already owns that issue with his anti-trade and anti-immigrant rhetoric. So all the Democrats have to rally against is guns. And standing up to the NRA just keeps failing at the federal level. All Ellison really would have done is distracted attack campaigns from other Democrats by giving the alt-right media a black liberal Muslim to hate.

what the DNC really needs, and maybe not right now, in a year maybe.....is a (or several) catasrophic scandals. and dumpster should be able to deliver that, and then some. somebody needs to REALLY start digging, and maybe pay for info.

The dem path forward should be pretty clear: Reverse the impact of gerrymandered districts (which is supported by a large majority of Americans & a real roadblock to reducing partisan politics), resist the current administration efforts that erode rights or pose an environmentally negative impact, staunchly support the free press, work on a progressive economic platform, foster collaboration with/ party progressives, find moderate Republicans to work with, recruit & prime candidates for 2018 & 2020, bottom up from local races to national.

100% correct. Watch them fuck it up.

And racists and fascists and people that use white power signs while speaking in an official capacity, and corporations, and special interests, and the pollution of and dying of our ecosystems, diverse biology and planet, and misogynists and sexists and a lot more stuff I can continue to think of.

exactly. in fact, the best thing the dnc could do is just leave the 2nd amnd out of the mix. there are plenty of other battles to fight, especially if they want to attract the middle. LOTS of democrats are firearms owners. do not give them a reason to sit out.

Who gives a shit about debt? That's a made up conservative thing that is world wide to strike fear so big business can reap...
