Rubio appeals for respectful debate in the senate and across the country in the wake of the Warren rebuke.

Been seeing this posted as a killshot against the outrageous Warren but that's not even scratching the surface of what he is talking about.. Watching this I can't help but think how all the conservative blogs posting this as an indictment of Warrn don't also see this reflect on the temperament of our President?

imo.....the GOP has been in "scorch the earth" mode for a long time. and now that they're in charge, they're going to finish the scorching.

Yeah, I get the whole not talking shit about another senator on the floor bit, but I think that has to go out the window when you are having a hearing about that senator and their qualifications for a higher office.

And another Senator should be able to read the words of a concerned citizen, especially one of note in the area of civil rights, without being accused of talking smack about a colleague or any other elected official. It was a bullshit move from the clear party of bullshit.

I find myself particularly disgusted with McCain, Rubio, and Cruz, because they are already beyond redemption in Trump's eyes. They reside high on his in-party shitlist...if not one, two, and three (not sure of the order). So not standing up and voting against DeVos was total shit. Then sticking with their party as it clearly says in support of Sessions that it also supports voter suppression...they could not make it anymore clear that they are NOT the party of the people. They're saying fuck you if you can't do something for me without even trying to feign any notion of higher calling to public service.

They are truly a disgrace.

I am more disgusted by DeVos being approved than Sessions. Don't get me wrong, Sessions is a complete and total fucktard, asshole, loofa-faced shit-gibbon, but he has the background to be qualified. I think his actions in the past should have kept him out, but he did go to law school and was a lawyer and served in the Senate. Not only has DeVos never worked in education, her and her children never even went to public school, nor did they ever take out student loans. I don't think she is qualified to work in the reception area of a public school let alone run the Dept of Ed. Again, I want to repeat, I fucking hate Sessions.

Cruz and Rubio probably think DeVos was a good pick because because they received money from her and she's all about adding creationism to school.

Yes, I know this horrible fact, but they're in office now and she can't do anything about that. It's unlikely that she's fund folks to run on the GOP ticket to run against either of them...she just wouldn't give them anymore cash. But as you're alluding to, cash is king and they'd rather destroy our education system than not have the bank to mount another election.

Has cronyism ever been so fucking transparent?

This is all a dog whistle to racists in the GOP base. The rule against impugning other senators was created to stop abolitionists from denigrating senators from slave states. McConnell shut Warren down to let white supremacists know that the GOP is declaring open season on black voters in America.
