interesting op-ed on the possibility of Chelsea Clinton raising her profile, which some speculate is signaling her desire to enter the ring

Chelsea Clinton Is the Last Thing the Democratic Party Needs
"Chelsea Clinton’s potential emergence into politics opens the door for Democratic opposition to continue citing the litany of scandals and disastrous policies championed by the Clintons. The only good to come out of this would be for Chelsea Clinton to lose a congressional race, thereby re-teaching a lesson the Democratic establishment has continuously failed to learn."

As a Jewish man who read the statement, I agree with the assessment that it was clumsy, and having known you, I don't think you're anti-Semetic. That said, "prominent Jew who is unrelenting in her Jewishness" needs no fine tooth comb. Many people are proud of their religions, regardless of what they are. If you feel she's too "in your face" about it, the solution is to unfollow her.

She's not, my comment was meant more that she is "unrelenting" in that she doesn't seem to care if it bothers her followers. She puts it out there for all to see whether she could lose followers or not. Which I think is refreshing for a celebrity.

I personally find it interesting and a little window into a world that I've never been personally exposed to having grown up in a mid sized steel town, and it's not like my place of residence is bristling with a large Jewish community.

Based on your last two posts, all I'm going to say is that words have meaning. And it's on you, the writer, to make sure your message is conveyed properly. If it's misconstrued, especially when not taken out of context, the onus is on you.

And with that, I'm recusing myself from what's been a civil conversation for a while. Because the other words I have are not pretty.

i tend to agree with the headline. chelsea NEEDS to stay out of politics, on the national level at least. the whole clinton name needs to stay out. it gives way too much ammo to the right.
we need someone new, intelligent, not so left (at least on the surface, we need to sell it to the center) and someone who can get name recognition quickly. and that person needs to stand up NOW. i don't know who that might be. i don't see any democrats in the spotlight that could fill those requirements, at the moment.

I doubt even that would teach the Democrats a lesson. In their minds the DNC leadership must be in the right as long as San Francisco keeps sending Pelosi back.

I completely disagree. Get her in congress so she can grab all the headlines. Let her be the punching bag for the right, she is strong enough to take it. I'm not so sure Obama didn't benefit from "at least its not Clinton" in 2008.

How about people just shut up about religion, especially their own. Why is it important to publicly proclaim what should be a personal thing? This goes for each, every and all religions.

apparently kellyann did NOT "misspeak" about the fake bowling green masacre. she's told the story before, in greater detail. do these people live in some alternate world, with their alternate facts and their alternate gods? where does this shit come from?

Like Trump said, he could stand in the middle of 5th avenue and shoot someone and still not lose. His people can say whatever the hell they want and his supporters don't give a shit.
