No, he's still busy trying to crack the case of the merely average inauguration attendance.

Inertia is a big part of it. Most oil companies are old behemoths operating internationally and there are few people with the leadership skills to lead that change. But they’re also afraid of Chinese manufacturing. China is subsidizing the shit out of solar manufacturing—that’s what killed BP’s solar division and Solyndra. Even if American solar firms avoid manufacturing they still have to risk getting undercut by Chinese or Indian companies that can do all the planning and engineering with Chinese employees and only hire Americans to do installation work.

Yeah, but they let happen by being so fucking shortsighted for decades. So instead of innovating or even trying to play catch up, they're literally willing to bleed the planet dry while simultaneously choking the life out of it. Great plan.

it's all about the money. it's easy to just stay on the same path and rake in the $$ and don't worry about it. do you think that we'd have all the safety features in cars if it wasn't "pushed" by some department or agency (gov't)? the car makers don't give a shit. they just want to sell cars. (GM ignition recalls, VW phoney emission program, Pinto gas tank explosions....on and on)

Honestly, I don't think they want to repeal it. It has a bunch of good in it that they know will upset folks once its gone and they realize what it did and it also puts a ton of cash in their donor's pockets. I bet they thought with how well Obama turned the country around, they wouldn't be back in the White House so soon and that by the time they were, the repeal it fever would be gone.

I guess so. It just makes me angry how much time, energy and money goes into nonsense like this.

Definitely some truth to this. Not sure Trump really even cares that much about it one way or the other. His rhetoric seems to be a lot of lip service. But the dude is all over the map on so many issues it's hard to even understand wtf is going on.

Maybe this is some of Peen's Chaos Magick at work :thu:

If the Republicans actually had a better plan, they would have been shouting it from the rooftops. They didn't, still don't, and I'll be shocked if they ever do.

I can't believe their base wasn't outraged at the waste that went into them trying to repeal it while Obama was president. I know most people don't know the inner workings of the government, but you would think they'd remember "I'm just a bill" and know that the president has to sign the bill before it becomes law and no way was Obama going to sign a bill to repeal his trademark legislation.

It also really bugs me that if and when they repeal and replace, it will probably be 75% Obamacare, but it won't have the name and that is really what it is all about. The left hit a home run and they are pissed it wasn't them.

...Sure the USSR sent cosmonauts into space with pencils, that shit wouldn't fly with us, by god our boys need pens. So we developed a pen that will write in space. ...

No tax dollars were spent developing NASA's pens. NASA payed the lofty price of $4 a piece for them.

Pencils are a horrible item to have in a zero gravity, pure oxygen environment. In fact, graphite dust was suspected as contributing to the Mir space station fire several years ago.
