I probably will never understand why so many Americans resist that though.
And socialism is in general that, making sure everyone has the opportunity of a decent life.
I understand getting senators/congressmen out of the pockets of insurance/pharma companies is hard, but that's another thing.

As an example, off my monthly wage I pay off tax, my house and car insurance as well as other necessaries (internet, phone, food, drink). That's it. And I still have almost half of my wages left.

If I had a heart attack tomorrow, I could get treatment at no extra cost and be back home for dinner. In what world is that not a good thing?

You need him, as well as others who have the balls to change things around.

Start with the single payer system, and work from there.

Just imagine finding yourself in hospital, and not having to worry "how the fuck am I going to pay for this?".
There's your answer.

that's a great idea. i don't know about bernie, tho. i don't think he can really get the votes. and his age is going to be an issue in 2020.

right now here, the $$ that is in health insurance is just pornographic. separating those corporations from 50 billion a year in profits, would be like separating Stalin from russia in 1945. it could take literally generations to fix it. and that would only happen if the political will was there. our politicians are getting 10's of millions each from those same corporations.
good old america......profit first.

i appreciate your optimism. it would take much much more than that. it would take a near all out revolution. again.
remember.......15 million people voted for dumpster. that's a lot of people who would vote against real universal health care.

That's my opinion, take it for what it's worth. He's popular in his (adopted) home state, even with conservatives, but that appeal doesn't translate to the middle of the country.

Also, while I'm perfectly well aware the left is currently screwing themselves into the floor they're so befuddled, know that a LARGE chunk of the voting public is just tickled pink that Trump is stirring shit up so handily, and he's only on week one. Don't be so sure Trump won't get reelected.

he can't get the votes. period. we need to start right now, getting the game plan and the candidates together for 2020. but nobody is doing it. the democratic party is like a deer in the headlights. they're frozen.
