“The FBI has instead relied on computer forensics from a third-party tech security company, CrowdStrike, which first determined in March of last year that the DNC’s servers had been infiltrated by Russia-linked hackers, the U.S. intelligence official told BuzzFeed News.”

So the FBI worked with a contractor. That’s hardly abnormal.

That and you really don't need the actual server to see where the attack came from. They could have had the log files sent over, or firewall logs, or the firewalls themselves. When I was the sys admin for a bank, our website was attacked (with hundreds of others peoples being attacked by the same organization at the same time). The FBI I asked us for certain log files off our servers and firewalls. Nothing else, we never handed over the actual server.

Apparently there’s yet a new standard now, which is to not confirm a Supreme Court nominee at all,” McConnell said, adding: “We’ll be looking forward to receiving a Supreme Court nomination and moving forward on it.”

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

We are so, so fucked. Every day this guy becomes more of a goddamn disaster and he hasn't even been sworn in yet.

Then there's this, from the "are you fucking kidding me" department: http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats...-t-tolerate-dems-blocking-scotus-nominee.html

Country's over, folks. I really don't see how we recover from this.

It's a subtle point but one thing that article omits is the exact quote was, "“I think that’s something the American people simply will not tolerate and we’ll be looking forward to receiving a Supreme Court nomination and moving forward on it,”
He is implying that his position is reflective of the will of the people & not just his own personal political agenda (as that linked article is suggesting).

The DNC needs to do whatever it can to put up a candidate to beat McConnell. That guy needs to go far away and never be heard from again.

Ok, but the will of the people put Obama in office for 8 years, so where was his will of the people then? He only cares about the will of the people when their will backs his political agenda.

Yes, it's hypocritical
However, I don't think that excuses intentionally omitting what he actually said in that daily beast piece.

That's not how republics are designed to function.

Pure democracies are tyrannical because the masses are selfish cunts. That's why you vote for someone who's smart, level-headed, visionary, able to make really unpopular decisions, etc.

In a last ditch attempt to find a “celebrity” to perform at Trump’s Inauguration Scottish songstress and Britain’s Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle (aka ‘The Hairy Cornflake’) has been approached by the president-soon-to-be’s office for the plum role of headline act.
Boyle has apparently agreed. But there’s a catch; she’ll only do the gig if she can perform her version of The Dead Kennedys seminal 1981 classic ‘Too Drunk To Fuck’.

Boyle insists however that there is no political motive behind the somewhat curious clause.

“I’ve always been a massive fan of the Dead Kennedys” she told us; “I’ve been meaning to release an album of sensitive covers for some time now, and this would be a perfect opportunity for me to showcase some of the new songs I’ve recorded.”

Other acts currently booked include Ted Nugent, Kid Rock and a recently reformed Charles Manson Family. Boyle is said to be delighted to be included in the lineup.

“I’m delighted to be included in the lineup.” she told us. “I can appreciate that they might not particularly like that song but I really, really, really like it. I’m not married to it though, if they insist I have to do something else I’d be only too happy to sing a cover of the Dead Kennedys 1981 hit ‘Nazi Punks Fuck Off’ instead” she added.

That's a puzzle...He's cultivated a reputation for being an obstructionist; which the public constantly cites as a huge concern in Washington yet continues to get elected.
Nationally, I think he has the lowest approval rating in congress. In KY, his state-wide polling generally isn't all that stellar but he continues to dominate the Republican primary & win the general with a decisive margin.
Even a republican with a less partisan slant would be an improvement from my POV.
