OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

If they were really concerned about abortion, they would do a lot better on preventing them by wanting to teach proper birth control, not abstinence only. I think some of them forget what it was like being a teenager. All I wanted to do was have sex and telling me god frowns upon it wasn't going to stop me at all.

Yes. That would be a good start.

R v W is the solution. People that want or need an abortion are able to get them safely. Those that don't needn't avail themselves of this procedure. But this second group also needn't worry about others.

I don't like children or, animals being abused. Saying, so just don't beat your children or your pets and don't worry about the others, doesn't work for me..

Yeah, let's give Rick a position where he'll need to manage issues related to nuclear materials and nuclear weapons. A position previously held by eminent nuclear physicists. He's a real big player, tremendous.

What could possibly go wrong?

"VELES, Macedonia — Dimitri points to a picture on his Instagram showing a bar table decked with expensive champagne and sparklers. It's from his 18th birthday just four months ago — a lavish party in his east European hometown that he says wouldn't have been possible without President-elect Donald Trump.

Dimitri — who asked NBC News not to use his real name — is one of dozens of teenagers in the Macedonian town of Veles who got rich during the U.S. presidential election producing fake news for millions on social media.

The articles, sensationalist and often baseless, were posted to Facebook, drawing in armies of readers and earning fake-news writers money from penny-per-click advertising.
Dimitri says he's earned at least $60,000 in the past six months — far outstripping his parents' income and transforming his prospects in a town where the average annual wage is $4,800. He is one of the more successful fake news pushers in the area.

His main source of cash? Supporters of America's president-elect.
"Nothing can beat Trump's supporters when it comes to social media engagement," he says. "So that's why we stick with Trump." "

there was a piece on 60 minutes on sunday (iirc) about a guy here in the usa that does faux news. he had done a story that fit with the conspiracy clinton thing and made $8000 in a month from the hits. until google shut him down.

Yes. That would be a good start.

You know, I think there is a misconception by pro life folks about pro choice folks. It comes out in their "pro abortion" name calling. I am pro choice, but would be happy if another abortion was never performed. Only if they weren't performed because nobody wanted or needed them, not because the government told them they couldn't and that starts with access to birth control and proper sex ed.

i'm not against women's rights. but i DO think that after a certain period of time, an abortion should not be allowed. i don't have any problem with the law Kasich just signed that says an abortion cannot be performed after 20 weeks. that's 5 MONTHS. that's not a forming mass anymore.
and anyone who would want an abortion after 5 months should be aborted themselves.
sorry. at some point it's murder. and i'm not a pro-lifer.

3) And if you want to be insistent on abolishing abortion, then put it to a vote, but make it a vote for women only. Fuck men. After millennia of oppression, we deserve zero say in an issue that impacts women exponentially more.

I've said that a million times. Until a man can go through pregnancy and the havoc it puts your body through, we should have zero say in the legality of abortion.

False equivalency, but you're entitled to it. I not rooting for abortions, I'd rather people be responsible. That said, nothing is fool proof. As such, I'm against anyone one not directly involved making the decision to terminate a pregnancy. Specifically, if you're in a relationship and that male is responsible for the impregnating, he should also have some weight in the decision. And that would the only male that gets to be a part of the conversation, but it's still not his decision.

Also, almost all of the folks that are vocally right-to-life are against big government...how the fuck can you get any bigger than getting involved in that decision. Fuck stepping back on R v W. That ship has sailed and it's opt-in, so no one is forcing anyone to do anything. Limiting access to options unless it's rape and/or incest is shit.

Sorry, I'm done with topic. I respect what you've hinted at in your opinion, but I also disagree. Ideally that's cool, but regardless I'm moving on.

I also find some hypocrisy in those who object both to abortion and to gun control.

"We might not be able to contain abortion, but we still want to hold people accountable."

"There's no way we can remove people's handguns or semis, that's totally impractical, let it slide."

Just to be clear, I have zero problem with you or Chad. Just trying to describe my feelings about it.

Not me but, most are also for the death penalty.

I don't believe in the death penalty for reasons both moral and practical, but it's been the status quo since forever. Whereas abortion, prohibition, prostitution, etc., even when illegal, have never really been contained.

I do believe that strict gun control laws can be beneficial, though. No point in defending yourself with a gun outside the home if it means that shooting your attacker will still land you in jail for a couple of decades.

Okay, one last thing...

Gooz, I know what you're saying, but it's this mentality "anyone who would want an abortion after 5 months should be aborted themselves" that makes the discussion so horrible. Almost everyone I know that is Right-to-Life is Christian and they sincerely feel an abortion is an affront to God. I give them their faith and beliefs, but once they start casting things like "maybe you should been aborted" they become hypocritical douche-bags. It's like saying, "you think that helpless develop life should die...you should die!"

From what I understand from talking to friends that have had abortions, it still bothers them. They don't regret it like it destroyed their lives, but to the person it was the hardest decision they've made. In at least one case, they were never able to get pregnant again (extenuating circumstances)...but procreating or having a family isn't and needn't be a mandate for anyone. Most of these folks have families now, but wouldn't change what could have been for what is. Had they had that baby at 21 (or younger or older), they may not have met their current partner, had their current children, had their current career, their current life... Fortunately none of them are living lives where things are shit and they are looking back on one decision as the end of their value and use.

It's a slippery slope and way too easy for those not directly involved to throw out all sorts of opinions and treat each other and those going through this rough experience in the worst way possible. We've had people that so value life that they have bombed Planned Parenthood clinics. Amazing obtuse hypocrisy...and an indisputable crime in all 50 states and pretty much every nation.

Or have people thinking they can get away with shooting and killing someone in "self-defense". Thankfully that never happens in the United Sta...oh wait...

"He was kicking my ass so I shot him."
