It's Oklahoma. Earlier in the article it talks about how teachers are leaving for higher paying states. Given the austerity, fracking induced earthquakes, and now this, sometimes you just have to get up and leave.
perhaps all their fracking will result in a state wide sink hole, and they wont' have to worry about it anymore.

So the folks selected to head the Dept of Ed and the EPA are both proponents of dismantling those depts/agencies. So they'll be out of a job soon enough, but so will hundreds if not THOUSANDS of other folks. Trump already destroying American jobs, despite his promises to create jobs. Hypocritical piece of shit as always.

Every agency that doesn't have to do with law enforcement or the military is going to be gutted or neutered.

Trump's promise is to create jobs in the private sector, not government jobs.

Semantic, he won't create shit...or that'll be all he creates. This is as per his standard operating procedure which as a NYer you are well aware. :crying thumb's up emoji:

It's not semantic. According to conservatives, there's a clear distinction between government jobs and private sector jobs. Government jobs don't have the same productivity levels, and therefore the American taxpayer isn't getting value for their dollar. Of course, this isn't accurate, but that's the narrative. Trump is doing exactly what conservatives want him to. Creating private sector jobs where there is profit to be made, instead of government jobs where there is no direct profit to be made. As always, follow the money and you'll get your answer.

As someone living in the DC area with a ton of friends who work for government contractors, it isn't the government jobs that need to go, it the government contractors that need to go. Talk about a ginormous waste of taxpayer money. Check out your SAICs or Ratheon or Booze Allen Hamiltons. It is disgusting how much money the government could save if they took those jobs in house.

Please believe me when I tell you that I agree with you. However, that is not the conservative narrative.

Yeah, but that's the old-boy military private sector network. Be an officer in the military for about 20 years (or more) at supposedly well under market value for your skill set (conveniently ignoring the huge housing stipends or FREE housing, FREE health care...for them as our taxes foot that bill, the potential for free utilities and food...depending upon the aforementioned housing situation, etc.). Retire with a sweet retirement package and then go work in the private sector making two to four (or more) times your military salary, thanks to your security clearance and generally clear penchant for military actions.

These same people are generally very conservative and against social welfare programs. It cannot be stressed enough that huge numbers of them were in the military for decades and from military families. Appreciate they what they do all you want, but do not mistake that the military is a social welfare program...not entirely unlike the socialism that most conservatives vehemently abhor.

I feel like I know too many people that have or would kill people without prejudice based on the "team" they were playing for. Folks unwilling to question the justification, just point and shot. As most of them are officers, few have directly killed any individuals, but they have organized and ordered the deaths of many. Almost all of these people consider themselves Christians.

Honestly, I bet most conservative voters outside of the DC area don't even know about the government contract business. If they did, they would flip the fuck out. One of my longtime friends has a consulting business that only does government contracts and it is sickening how much money the government wastes by hiring them.

Well, that's why the Democrats lost. The Republicans have a more convincing narrative.

This has been making the rounds on social media again. Who knows what percentage of supporters identify with it but I know more than a few in my FB feed see some aspsect of this as 'why'

Dear Democrats and Liberals,
I’m noticing that a lot of you aren’t graciously accepting the fact that your candidate lost.
In fact you seem to be posting even more hateful things about those of us who voted for Trump.
Some of you are apparently “triggered”.
Because you are posting how “sick” you feel about the results.
How did this happen you ask.
You created “us” when you attacked our freedom of speech.
You created “us” when you attacked our right to bear arms.
You created “us” when you attacked our Christian beliefs.
You created “us” when you constantly referred to us as racists.
You created “us” when you constantly called us xenophobic.
You created “us” when you told us to get on board or get out of the way.
You created “us” when you forced us to buy health care and then financially penalized us for not participating.
You created “us” when you allowed our jobs to continue to leave our country.
You created “us” when you attacked our flag.
You created “us” when you confused women’s rights with feminism.
You created “us” when you began to emasculate men.
You created “us” when you decided to make our children soft.
You created “us” when you decided to vote for progressive ideals.
You created “us” when you attacked our way of life.
You created “us” when you decided to let our government get out of control.
You created “us” the silent majority.
You created “us” when you made BLM and hurt people that said all lives matter
You created “us” when you called us “sellouts” for being black and supporting Trump
You created “us” when we were forced to make cakes for gay weddings or get sued
You created “us” when you said a tranny man could be next to my daughters in public restrooms!
You created “us” when my kids couldn’t get into a class because they had room only for illegals
You created “us” when my kids were the only American English speakers in their class
You created “us” when you tried to make us believe “shout your abortion” was a cool hash tag
You created “us” when my husband started teaching and he got told he made too much money when we tried to get help, even though we are struggling
You created “us” when you said “lazy American women (stay at home moms) are what’s wrong with the economy”
And we became fed up and we pushed back and spoke up.
And we did it with ballots, not bullets!!
I am tired of all the BS going on.
The election is over, so take it like the adults you are suppose to be!
I won’t argue with you over this post, so don’t bother trying.
And by the way…. AT THIS POINT WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE….

Well we need to start a new bucket… #bucketofLiars
