Unbeknownst to my wife or I my 12 year-old went to Hillary's site and wrote a letter about the ACA and how his heart condition makes him think about those kids whose healthcare from the ACA. Further he mentioned that repealing ACA would essentially allow insurance companies go back to rejecting claims based on pre-existing conditions...and we all know they will if given the opportunity.

We didn't find out about until he told us that he got an email from Hillary's people asking if he could be in a video. We were super skeptical and cautious, but everything checked out. You'll note that the premise that they went with did not go for the aforementioned angle. My dad, who works in media, said the following when I mentioned how they didn't do what they said would: "yeah, they make commercials, they always lie about what they're going to do."..meaning people that make commercials (which he a did a ton of in a previous iteration of his career).

i will say it again. while ACA may be one step forward (except for the 'you get health care or we're coming after you' bullshit).....the end result still needs to be.....OUR HEALTH SHOULD NOT BE A FOR PROFIT BUSINESS!!!!

i applaud your son. good on him, even tho Hillary's people spun it a different way than he intended.
still the steps need to go forward.

There are probably just as many who are losing sleep over the thought of it. I spent a year contracting for the FBI. There were some real morons and a few scumbags. But plenty were good, thoughtful people who were just trying to do an important job while hamstrung by corruption and ineptitude. I don’t think any of them wants to have to carry a gun in the service of a madman. If Trump wins I think many people in law enforcement, intelligence, and the military retiring or going corporate at the first opportunity. And that will just make things worse.

A good friend who is a Yankees fan just suggested Theo Epstein as a write in candidate for President on Tuesday. Honestly, I think he'd get more votes than Johnson, McMullin, and Stein combined.
 
holy crap.......last night before the game nearly every commercial was a clinton or trump ad.......november 9th can't get here soon enough....so we can go back to all the big pharma ads. :facepalm:
 
why isn't trump's upcoming child rape trial getting more press? is it a bogus charge or what?

seems like something like that would be covered more. I mean I know impartial justice departments commenting on ongoing investigations is frowned upon, lol, but what's the deal here?

It isn't a "charge" at all. This is a civil case. The female in question is wanting money.

An anonymous female comes forward wanting money instead of criminal justice and her only proof is an anonymous witness. Right before the election. I'd like to think that the scepticism of responsible journalism is keeping it from getting more press.

Because all there is to cover is the fact that a trial is scheduled. The accuser is staying anonymous and not doing any press. She scheduled an appearance this week and then canceled claiming she had received death threats. There’s nothing else to report.

I remember that September 10, 2001, the major story was the disappearance of Chandra Levy; CNN has pretty much 24 coverage of the fact that she worked for a congressman. A day later and that story was forgotten.

So here is a great example of how Donald Trump has really messed up the republican party. Our congressional race is between Barbara Comstock (R) (I have actually jammed with her husband a few times, really nice guy) and LuAnn Bennett (D). Some republican super pac is running an add on the radio. It is a man and wife discussing the election (where they mention they haven't decided on the presidential race, I guess they don't want to tie Comstock to Trump) but the whole ad is slamming Bennett for avoiding taxes. Your presidential candidate has bragged on national TV many times about how he pays no taxes and says how smart he is for avoiding them. It cracks me up.
