my voting place is an elementary school. the cops will have NO bullshit on school property. and the school sits back 100 yards from the road.

That’s why I’m expectomg something horrible to happen. Lots of voting happens at schools and churches. Gun nuts insist that they should be able to take their guns into schools and churches. They have a habit of assuming that all rights listed in the constitution are inviolable. What happens when a gaggle of self-appointed election monitors with AR-15s and body armor decide to go Bundy in an elementary school and there are a half dozen clueless small town cops responding?

While I've always enjoyed the 'doing my civic duty' of waiting in line to vote it was so dang convenient to take my time on it and pop it in the mail when I was ready. While I did look up a sample ballot prior, having the actual full ballot in front of me, able to do some additional research on a couple local candidates that I hadn't considered, was great. Also gave me the chance to really mull over my choice for Governor.

Higher voter turn out seems to be common states that make it convenient to vote or have viable third party candidates that motivate people to get out. Anything that gets more people participating and doesn't negatively impact the accuracy of the system is good by me.

i don't know what they'd do in a small town. we're the 4th largest city in ohio. and the second someone steps on school property (here) with any gun, let alone an AR.....they're going straight to jail. they're strictly illegal on school property in ohio.

Few states have prohibitions against firearms in polling places and unless the location is a prohibited building, someone can carry a firearm into the booth. (except for LEOs ironically, who in some states are prohibited from being in the polling place on duty unless responding to a call) however it's always been this way and has never been a problem.

I know that current events and this massively divisive political season have some people very tense & speculative but I believe that calmer heads will prevail on all sides.
