I've never been so worried about and election in my life. Knowing that there are a lot of people, possibly some in this very forum, that feel the exact opposite as the foundation of their concerns is frightening.

As I've previously stated, I get why people don't like Hillary. I don't particularly "like" her, but I don't understand how you support Trump unless you want to openly admit that you are overflowing with prejudice and ignorance. That anyone would consider Trump over any other candidate, and I'm including Johnson and Stein, is so scary.

I didn't support Romney, but I knew the US would be fine were he president. I used to like McCain (before the 9/11 change) and still appreciate some of his perspectives...one of my biggest issues with him in 2008 was his running mate. I thought Dubya was a tool and was right, but he didn't send us into ruination (despite Cheney's best efforts). He had political experience at the executive level. I hated many of Bush's policies and the wars he started (no matter the justification or lack thereof), but the US persevered. Clinton brought shame to the Office in a new world where that infidelity card was being played (after decades of cover up for so many past POTUS... POTUSES, POTIPOD, POTI?) and fucked us all with the repeal of Glass Steagall, but here we are. George H.W. got in over his head and the shit he knew (and approved that we'll never know about) as former head of the CIA scares me and first Gulf War...not good, but here we are. Reagan...well his fiscal policies along with the repeal of Glass Steagall are part of the foundation of the 2008 recession...arguably without him there was no Bush or W. Bush. Carter, probably the smartest man ever to hold the office, but not without his flaws (at least based on public perception). And the opponents of the folks listed above: Ford, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Bush, Dole, Gore, and Kerry...we'd have easily gotten through with any of these folks as Commander in Chief. Fuck, I'll even go as far as to say Ross Perot would've left unscathed...the crazy little muskrat!

Trump is more disinterested in the public good and more self-serving than probably a handful of the next "horrible" bastards that ran for or became POTUS. When shit doesn't work, due to his gross mismanagement OR because he's had things set-up to magically bring himself back to financial solvency, he cops out. He admittedly takes advantage of a system that allows him to fail without any real penalty and shirks it off as taking advantage of a broken system. Those he deems poor (pretty much everyone) or ugly aren't worth his time. He clearly thinks very little of women, with the exception of his daughter who he clearly thinks way too much about and of in the creepiest way possible. Diplomacy, despite the W. Bush administrations endless railing against, is one of the foundations of the position of POTUS and Trump doesn't understand it as a concept at all. Everything is his way or the highway and his way changes from moment to moment. He doesn't have the intellect, attention span, patience, respect for other people, respect of other nations, humanity or humility required of the job.

Disagreeing with Hillary's positions is understandable, but supporting Trump's is not. The inability of everyone in our country to see that saddens and frightens me. Again, don't vote for Hillary if you don't like or "trust" her. But for whomever's sake...your family's, friends', lovers', neighbors', state's, nations', and planets' don't let it be even close to having Trump as president. The blatant hatred genie is out of bottle, but that's only one part of how Trump is likely to further fuck things up. We can do endlessly better (not Carson or Cruz though...they crazy OR any of the batch of complicit losers that now support Trump).

Sorry had to get that out. I know it's not without issues, but this is such a uniquely fucked up situation. One of the most qualified candidates in history is neck and neck with the biggest sleaziest snake oil salesman of all time. She's accused of crimes she didn't commit, cleared of wrong doing founded on baseless accusations, being vilified for engaging in what turn out to be common practice of peers and colleagues, and more. While he lies to the public again and again. The proof is in footage of he himself supporting the Gulf Wars, calling Republican/conservative voters stupid, denying his failed businesses have failed, showing no regard for the institution of marriage, regularly stiffs contractors sending them letters saying they'll fight paying to the point of bankrupting them until they leave with their tails between their legs...just a horribly and OPENLY dishonest man. He thinks he can run the nation when he can't even keep a business or relationship together. He's always looking for something better...

Fuck. I gotta stop and I apologize to any and everyone that's actually read this.

I think Trump played the media flawlessly. They're biased against him and they thought they were going to get something that would give them ammunition. You could clearly see the lead up. And he gave them the middle finger. Good for him.

Now if only Ron Paul and Cynthia McKinney would run (together even).

From reading the article he's talking trash, because of Hillary's remarks regarding gun control. Her views are not as extreme as other folks, but can easily be twisted to say "she's coming fer our guns!!!"

If he really wanted to make some impact, he should've instead brought up the current 11 states that are trying to pass bills that could be easily abused to label people as "high risk" and remove their second amendment right. It'd at least raise awareness of current events versus mud slinging.

I'm not sure where that site got there info, but I live in Virginia, one of he states they mentioned. Virginia has nothing up for a vote about guns this year and no way the state legislature is drawing one up. Our legislators are mostly republican and the NRA is headquartered here. The state govt made it easier to buy guns here under our last governor who was a republican. So I'm not sure where they got the info, but I'd like too see it.
