WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO......RIGHT NOW......Mk III

I remember a bunch of that stuff he did and I do vaguely remember the kitchen vid too :embarrassed: I always enjoyed his take on Brush w/ The Blues, good guitaring skillz. And I remember Bucky’s place too, from what I recall it was mostly a bunch of macho cowboy stuff and prOn :embarrassed: Sad Navigator…I can’t remember if he was someone else before? Libertarian? The guy from NJ? My memory is a little foggy 10 years later hehe. Trying to remember other forumites…Weebz? Oscar Jordan? Has Muddslide been around here at all? I still play guitar every day, even more so now that I work from home these days. You should rise your Parker Fly you had up from the ashes! :bigg: I liked your kind of Can inspired jams, I think you were listening a lot to them back then :)
Back OT, here’s some kool psych:

Good memory with the Parker Fly. I still have that, my Squire strat, my mexican Fender Tele, a Carvin tweed style amp, a beater acoustic and a Martin D-1, also a little Orange practice amp and Blackheart practice amp combo as well as all my pedals. Someday I will probably pick up again most likely.
I do recall sad navigator had another name before...he used to get the ban hammer frequently. do you remember Jawbreaker from HCGJ...the many times he pRon bombed the place :embarrassed: then there was the guy from Dallas Texas, forgot his name...Crab Cakes from your neck oif the woods and Sir Garrote. I recall Mudslide the name but can't remember much about him although I want to say he is the now user Monson but cant be sure or maybe Monson was Monson back at HCGJ.
Yes I was deep into Can and the Kraut stuff towards the end, early on it was all Dead and Phish. Since then I've been all over the place and don't have any particular thing. I was really into Guided by Voices for a long time and the Fall has been a semi regular over the years.
Your first video here reminds me a bid of Steve marriot at least vocal for some reason.
another fav over the last few years has been Dead Moon they're from Clackamas Oregon so again kinda yer neck of the woods assuming you're still in WA

Libertarian? The guy from NJ?

That was ChuckyB

Haven't seen him, but I'm glad you brought his name up! I sent him some seventies horror movies on burned DVDs way back in the day (Blood on Satan's Claw was one of them, and I can't remember what else, some Hammer films anyway). Anyhow, the reason I mention it is a week or two ago I was browsing a retro movie site and I saw something on Blood on Satan's Claw. I thought to myself 'what was the name of the guy on HCGJ I sent the movies too?' and I just could not remember. It was niggling at me. Thanks! :thu:

That’s good you still have your gear, I’m sure you’ll get back to it eventually. I’ve been playing most of my life, but there have been some stretches when I didn’t play for a good amount of time…life events, kids etc. I have a glut of gear now and should really purge some of it and pair it down to my favorite stuff, but it’s hard :embarrassed: Ah yes, how could I forget the prOn bombs! :bigg: I’m no longer in WA. state, I moved to Fla. in early 2016 for about a year and a half and then moved to SoCal in 2017 where I’ve been since…before WA. I lived in SoCal for about 15 years before WA. and was on the east coast NY/MA/NJ before that. Lots of moving around! Yeah, good call on the first track, def. some of that Marriott rasp. I don’t think I’ve heard Dead Moon before but dig what I’m hearing, I’ll def. give the whole thing a listen

Chucky B., yes that’s who I was trying to remember! That was niggling at me too, so thanks also! Funny you mentioned Satan’s Claw, I just rewatched that fairly recently, also a fan of Hammer movies and the like. I do recall Muddslide being a fan also, we always had quite a few common interests and he turned me onto some good music…too bad he’s not around here, he was good people. This would’ve been a perfect fit for that flick:

You're a bit like Yabba then, remember him ? He was one who lived all over. Myself has only ever lived in s. AZ (Tucson mainly) and a couple years in sw N.M.

Dead Moon is a bit rough on the vocals although I tend to enjoy "unique" voices but oh man that guitar sound and rawness of the drums :rawk:

Fred, the guitar lead vocals was in bands in the 60's and was featured on the Nuggets set. I've watched a few mini documentaries on youtube but never seen the official one called Unknown Passage

here's a couple songs from his 60's bands

Just got the sad news one of my best friends has passed away. He was my colleague, next door neighbour, and friend for a long time, and then retired in bad health to the Philipines. He was a huge music lover with a voracious and open-minded appetite for new music, or music that was new to him. A couple of nights every week we'd sit around playing records and drinking beers, sharing songs and trying to introduce something new to surprise the other. He got super into Amon Duul II, Sleep, and Big Youth.

He was an Aussie, and one of his favorite bands was Master's Apprentices:

Anyhow, raising a beer tonight to one of the best friends I've ever had.

Thanks, Good Buddy.

This is another great Master's Apprentices song, it's proper fully-realized stoner rock.

And this video is a fucking trip!

Cool, I’m going to listen to all that Dead Moon stuff, I needed some fresh listening material so thanks! I know both of those bands/albums and have several tracks on my psych playlist, pretty cool that he kept doing music throughout the years. I do remember Yabba from HCGJ days. Sorry to hear about your friend @Motorik, I’ve been a fan of Master’s Apprentices for many years…lot of good material.

Welcome to last century! Holy crap man, this album is older than I am, and I’ve liked and respected it since I was in school. But it seems like I’ve never really heard it until today.

It doesn’t hurt that it is comfortably loud on my newly-retransformered system. And it’s Friday. :)

This is just jaw-droppingly good music.
