I have strats with and without that heel contour. I can't tell the difference by feel. The contour probably bugs me more than the squared off because of the asymmetrical screw layout, but that's just me. Technically, the symmetrical layout is stronger for a bolt on, but your glued up, so I'm just kind of rattling on about nothing I guess
