Walnut Hollowbody Build

This is funny. I stained the neck and tonight I went to start trimming the nut width.

Tonight's project is to make a tenon out of the neck. Since the neck tapers outward as you go up the neck, the two sides aren't parallel. That's cool and all but makes it really hard to make a pocket for it. I don't even want to attempt that math. :embarrassed:

To simplify things, I'm gonna just cut the sides so they are parallel. The last get inches of the fretboard will hang over a bit.

Continuing the headstock/neck transition. I have the neck narrowed to width now but there's still a mm or two to come off the back of the headstock.
 
Hope everyone likes the "along the way" pics. It shows how each step kinda flows along.
This is looking pretty good. A little more cleanup.

I spent three hours this afternoon sharpening tools. Life is much better with sharp chisels and planes.
Wood chisels have proven the most useful on this part. The 1/4" especially has earned it's keep.
