Walnut Hollowbody Build

They look to be about 3/8"

I'd wait and place them on the fingerboard and see how they look in relation to the fret markers and the spacing.

Good thinking.

Well, the glue seems to be holding and I started trimming the fretboard.

This is going faster than I thought. At its thinnest around the third fret, it's stil 1 1/4" thick.

The neck still needs narrowed a bit.

Woohoo! I guess you started this thread while I was away on holiday and I never caught it until today. Great work so far! Can't wait to see how this progresses.

Getting the width where it needs to be. I've got it 2/3 of the way up.

And the carve is coming along. Right now it's a really fat D shape. Still 1 1/4" thick but it feels pretty good. What's the fattest neck ever?

No, that's mainly with grinders, planers, sanders and stuff. The draw knife just makes little curlys. No dust.

And a neck begins to emerge.

Getting there. It's still 1 1/16" thick but it feels good. I think I'll work on the profile and leave the depth where it is for now and see. I can always take more off.

Now, I gotta decide what profile to use. C, D or V.
