I think it's an amazing place. I've never been so overwhelmed from just being somewhere. I saw some great sights; the Museum of Modern Art, the view from the Empire State Building, the skyline views from the Brooklyn Bridge and from the Staten Island Ferry at dusk, Times Square, etc. Had some good food, including the proper NYC stuff like pizza and bagels, met and hung out with some locals. A great holiday, all in all. I think I'm moving to NYC to become a taxi driver.
I think I'm going to aim for a 21-22km run tomorrow morning.
I wouldn't take it off if you are planning on seeing San Diego or Santa Barbara or even San Francisco. LA is not all it's cracked up to be IMO. And I think it's worth seeing once, but it ranks pretty low on the list of cities I've actually been to. Just about Phoenix, I think![]()
Checking to see if the Sad man is still with us.
I don't think I've slept since Sunday night.
Fucking infants!
Do they have wolves in British Columbia? Couldn't you just let reliable ol' canis lupus watch the young uns?
The last time a set of twins were raised by wolves, Rome was founded.
We couldn't let something like that happen again.
This is my burden.
You can always tell the forumites who aren't serious about world domination and eating dormice.
an unhealthy breakfast and coffee.
Twinkies and a gas station taquito? Maybe some of those ketchup flavored Canadian Doritos?
I don't like the stuff you list, although I do like ketchup-flavoured potato chips, occasionally.
I have a perverse interest in the very worst junk food. I don't really like it, but I find the disgusting reconstituted food product + marketing thing fascinating. It might be a result of all the years in retail, or the college days in downstate Illinois were the finest restaurant in town is often attached to a gas station.
I did eat a taquito thing a week ago. It wasn't very good at all, but I was starving and at the gas station. They did some limited edition "retro" Twinkies a year or two ago. They were supposedly banana flavored like the originals. No great shakes.
