My wife is meeting with an investor and his marketing director to look at properties for a PTSD program right now. This could be huge. This guy is big time. He owns a couple dozen mental health facilities around the country and wants her to run this one and if it's successful, open more with her as a partner/consultant/director.
She was exceptionally nervous this morning. He flew in on his private jet. Yeah. He's that big.

Morning.

Nice job, Ken!

Late shift this week; kinda been up and down. Today is the wife's birthday, and it's a biggie, which, of course means that she really doesn't want it  However, I spent the last two days masterminding a two-part event that should make her quite happy (and me as well:wink:) :).

So, the Strat I got a few days ago was a Fender Lonestar - black MIM HSS with two Texas Specials and the SD Pearly Gates. Thing was in excellent overall condition, with an SBK hardshell case, for just over 3. Nice score, but not sure I'm gonna keep it - it plays well, but I'm not sure I like the pickups in that one, good as they are supposed to be. Could probably flip it for a small profit...we'll see.

Hmm, A couple of years back, I played a whole buncha' strats at a GC and the Lonestar was the one that really spoke to me. I am currently stratless (first time in about 20 years) since December and I can definitely see myself picking up one of those ('course I'd hafta get rid of something else!)

Nice additions Ken!

Ya know the old saying 'If it's too loud you're too old'? Went and saw Bad Religion last night. Opening bands were way too loud for the venue. Not saying I'm too old, just saying these young bands can't go full volume in a smaller theater and expect it to work.

thanks, and yes... blame the sound man?

Holy crap, Ken! When I retire (next week ) I'm wanting to come do an internship with you. Those are shweet.

Probably sound like poo, though.

Just kidding! Just kidding!

Whats the top one all about?

I imported a pickup i called the Alchymist a few years back. I wanted to revive it. The original used 43 awg wire overwound to 15k, and an Alnico V bar, with hex poles. This one uses 1950s spec Fender wire Heavy Formvar, Wound only to 8k, with Alnico 8 or C8 Ceramic. The Alnico 8 has a midrange spank to it... Sounds like a powerful old school pickup, and the Ceramic 8 sounds thicker and a less mids, more lows. Im in love with this A8, for power. Other colro options will be available. Black, Gold, Chrome, Brushed nickel.. etc. Early thoughts...spanky, lots of harmonic content, especially with overdrive or distortion. Never muddy.
