The death metal appreciation thread part deux

Super awesome! The opener was a local band I had never heard of called Cereviscera - they kinda reminded me of early Cryptopsy in a good way, the bass player was doing all sorts of ridiculous two handed tapping, which was fun. Superstition had some sound issues but were otherwise really good, and for me, Tomb Mold is definitely another of those bands that seems to have figured out that perfect balance of riffs and intensity and a little bit of groove and nuance. I think I like their new stuff even better than their previous album. Definitely recommend seeing live. Plus their guitar player with the short shorts is the prettiest dude in death metal.

It was an all-ages (or 17 and up or something) show so it was a bit rowdier than 21+ shows - there was a big pit with a fair number of kids throwing elbows, which meant that everyone went home covered in stale beer, which also kinda added to the general ambiance

a bit of doom, some groove, occasionally a bit of complexity, and plenty of straight up deathhhhh
