The death metal appreciation thread part deux

Cool, I'll check 'em out

here are the other 2:
The first one: - I have no part of it except telling my friend (he's not a metalhead) "let's do a stupid grindcore thing". He said "OK" and 30 minutes later there was an audio file of our first song, where my friend laments the loss of his foreskin

Then my friend told me "I want the next song to be called 'shit kid'" (it was after a lesson with a very frustrating student), I wrote the music, we both do vocals

that was great!

Thanks!

Incidentally we had a long discussion as to where we want to take our music, and everyone agreed we want to go more dissonant and more doom and less standard metal.

The other guitarist wasn’t there, and you might remember we had a big argument because the stuff he was writing was very derivative metal in 4/4 and I told him it wasn’t really suitable for us. I am happy I got vindicated by the rest of the band :thu:

Still need to soak it all in a bit more, but new altarage is good stuff I'm thinking

really liking this bit of cavernous intensity lately too:

full album is on bandcamp today!

ALSO! season of mist put the new Altarage up on youtube early

(I haven't listened to the full thing yet)

Still haven’t had time to listen to the entire Altarage album, what I have heard sounds to me what Portal would have been had they stayed with their murky sound. That’s not necessarily a bad thing

Something totally different: total classic in my opinion and very interesting considering they totally went the opposite direction after this

Not Death Metal but Judas Priest played Killing Machine last night for the first time since 1978. FUCK YEAH!
