My latest concoction, meant to be used by my band in some form. Not really death metal, not really sure how to describe it.

Just posting this to let you guys into my weird musical mind

Oh, it has melodic singing, which according to one of my friends sounds like Alice in Chains.

Note: there is no bass on this recording as it is just meant as a demo for the band

Post-black?

I'll have to listen to it a few more times to form an opinion.

If we're doing that, here's a little thing I'm doing with a friend. I call it grindcore because of the short songs and the DIY aesthetics, but I'm not sure. This is the 3rd (and longest) song. I wrote most of the music, and played bass and most guitars (and programed the midi drums). I also do the vocals here, double tracking is magic:

Ok, that was weird, but in a good way. Would like to hear it with actual drums

Ok, listened to it a few more times.
I like the sound, I like the vibe, and I am still black metal in there (although I don't really listen much to black metal), mixed with more modern dissonant death metal sound.

thanks

I can live with that, I suppose there are some black metal vibes in there, as well as some dissonant death metal and some post-rock/doom influences.

I don't listen much to black metal anymore myself.
