Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

We're done with Hitler. We're onto the Tsar now.

Doing these exams gives quite the insight into oneself. I don't think of myself as particularly geeky but last night I was getting super enthused about some of the content kids were coming up with about why the UK canal system declined after 1840

Will get these finished and shipped off before dinner time and then I've got a bit of time to prep for my interview tomorrow. :thu:

so why did the canal system decline? :embarrassed:

I was just reading that Wok. I've got a book on my bedside table about the Camorra mafia that I've been trying to get through for months. It's by a guy who grew up there and was a small time player at one point but he's bloody Italian so everything is written flowery like a 3rd year trying to write something profound.

Have you seen this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gomorrah_(film)

Really good movie about that story, probably based on the same book.

It doesn't mention it in Wikipedia but I seem to remember reading that they shot it in the real locations and often using people actually involved as extras.

Railways if I remember correctly.

No process involved in answer:

0 MARKS :embarrassed:

Finished though going through the paper work and making sure everything is tickety boo I've now managed to convince myself that I've made a minor error which may fuck up my payment for over 100 essays I marked for them last month

Shame I have this interview tomorrow or being that I've just finished these and I'm currently enjoying 5 day weekends it would be refreshing lager beer time :embarrassed:

morning

almost THAT time again

I'm meant to phone back this school to find out how I done in the interview at half 4 but thanks to the wonders of mobile technology I can do that from the pub so ta ta gents :embarrassed:

Morning all. Shake leg will you?

In other news, this solar powered plane made it's first flight. Not exactly convenient for a commute as the wingspan is bigger than a jumbo for a single passenger aircraft but it's good to see what they can do.

Oh hi, this is when I casually mention I've started on a weeks vacation. :embarrassed:
Getting some mixing done, modding/upgrading a few guitars and rehearsing for this weekends gig in Oslo (playing there with the blues band on Saturday).

Dexter - jammy git, have fun. Where are you playing in Oslo?

Outside short gig actually. There's this thing during the first weekend of June each year in Oslo called Musikkens Dag (Day of Music) where there are stages set up all over the city, we're playing at Christiania Torv (torv is about the same thing as you'd call Square, I suppose), located where the old city centre used to be.
In the middle of the day, so plenty of time for refreshing beers afterwards. :)

I know where that is. There's an Irish theme pub just off the square called the Dubliner that my colleagues and I have been to a fair number of times during my visits to Oslo. Decent food and beer and occasional Irish folk music IIRC.
