Wotcha. Bored being back at work after the bank holiday weekend. Gigged at The Reckless Engineer in Bristol on Sunday. Wasn't a whole load of advertising so it was a bit quiet punter wise but was fun. Bassist's wife took some pics, here's one from Facebook, still waiting to get hold of the higher resolution version.

Looks a bit empty indeed :(

what kind of stuff do you guys play?

anyway, I never had a bank holiday, so I am outraged. I am going to vote independence!

Looks a bit empty indeed :(

The pub is popular with Bikers so they have started organising ride outs. We were booked to play afterwards, specifically for the ride out but they got their timings all wrong, the ride finished by 3.30pm and we weren't due on until 6pm so a lot of people drifted off, even though we managed to get set up early and on stage by 5.15pm. As the pub is opposite the main railway station in Bristol (Temple Meads) we got a fair amount of people coming in for a drink before catching their trains and there were more than a few who walked in who would have stayed if they could but had to go so that was satisfying and hopefully will spread the name further and wider.

what kind of stuff do you guys play?

We play covers, mainly classic rock, a lot of it the stuff that everyone else thinks they're too cool to do.

We're all old enough not to give a toss any more about that so will happily crank out anything we like, the way we like it.

Not sure that'll make a difference to the bank holidays you'll get either way.

I got Friday and Monday off.

Of course being in a partial state of employement I also got Thursday and Wednesday off too :embarrassed:

Just finished up another set of exam marking and of course I'm saying this in a theoretical sense as I'm not meant to make any comment on what I'm doing but if I've just marked 2 loads of the biggest pile of shite from 2 of the countrys most reknowned private schools - just goes to prove that throwing money at your dunce child doesn't guarantee success. :embarrassed:

Oh yeah and due to said current state of semi employment, my weekend has now started too   #fuckinskinto

Could be worse, some daft junkie that I knew from back int he day at my mum and dad's got bottled off of a junkie cunt and died at the weekend :/

Meh will watch it later.

I work alongside the brother of the dude who created Kick Ass and a bunch of other big comic stuff. He used to work in KSA too so we compare old war stories and homebrew recipes

ANyways I've got another bunch of yoof's dreams to kill so better get on with my marking.

Actually whilst we're on that point, what do you folk think of this: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/watch-video-a-level-student-throwing-3614082

He did look like he pushed that 'cake' quite hard into the teachers face. The bell end.

Its been raining here for over 24 hours. Supposed to be going camping tomorrow. Hmmm.

Its a bank holiday here tomorrow. I don't think you can blame the English for it either.

I might be mistaken but it sounds like it's a ceramic plate too, there's definitely a crashing sound at some point.

Woman fucked up, at that point she's well within her legal right to physically deal (within reason :embarrassed: ) any student who is a threat to her, other pupils or themselves.

I hope the little shit doesn't get into uni - I might be slightly biased but on one hand you can look at it as it was just a daft kid pulling a prank, on the flipside by the letter of the law he's physically attacked a female in the duty of doing her job. If he walked into a bank or even a supermarket and did that, he'd wind up in court - it'll be interesting to see how this plays out, are teachers just expected to put up with this sort of pish as a part of the job?

Apart from that, just by looking at him you can tell he's a complete and utter twat.

Morning all
Optimism is the word of the day. Just booked our first camping excursion of the year. mrs_huge and I shall be heading off down to Wiltshire next week to loaf about for a few days and possibly check out some stones and old stuff, whilst keeping a wary eye on the weather.
Somehow a few days away camping has morphed into renting a carpet-cleaning device. Yaaaayyy!

I was just reading that Wok. I've got a book on my bedside table about the Camorra mafia that I've been trying to get through for months. It's by a guy who grew up there and was a small time player at one point but he's bloody Italian so everything is written flowery like a 3rd year trying to write something profound.

"Elizabetha, the darling child of our neighbourhood, Gone. Like so many of those little candles left at the vigil except our angel's light had been cruelly snuffed out by the mortality that hangs around these streets like a fox waiting to pounce."

In all my days the only books I've never finished have been a terrible unauthorised Bowie biography and Hitler's follow up to Mein Kampf that was so mental even the Nazi's asked him to keep it under wraps. I fear this one will join the list.

Anyhoo speaking of Nazis, today I shall finish this year's round of exam marking. Bit of the Nazis, bit of the Russian Revolution, a bit of American Civil Rights and I'm golden. For some reasont his second batch I've done has been markedly worse than the first. I'm wondering if the amount of terrible ones I'm seeing from private and eally good public schools is because the parents there expect their kid to be put forward for an exam even if they've not got a chance to pass

they must have done s good job, because I never heard of it

Speaking of which, have you read this? I heard it's pretty good

Ummm never even heard of it. German satire? Not sure that's something I'd dig.

You're not missing much being ignorant of the fact Hitler brought out another book. The only minutely interesting part of it is that he pretty much lays it out that he'll invade Russia at some point and he'll probably need to fight the US too.

Yeah, just read up on it. Apparently Hitler laid out more specific plans to form an alliance with the English against the Russians and Jews and that eventually the US would be the biggest threat.

He wrote it as his first book wasn't very successful.

We're done with Hitler. We're onto the Tsar now.

Doing these exams gives quite the insight into oneself. I don't think of myself as particularly geeky but last night I was getting super enthused about some of the content kids were coming up with about why the UK canal system declined after 1840

Will get these finished and shipped off before dinner time and then I've got a bit of time to prep for my interview tomorrow. :thu:
