Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

So after about half a year of dicking me about on almost everything they've been doing, I got a call from Scottish Power today to say the reason they can't see up an account for my gas (which they've been supplying me with from mid January.....) is because for some reason they are unable to bill me for it.

I don't quite get how in this day and age a massive company struggles to say customr A you've used X therefore you owe us Y but that's apparently the deal. Prats.

Guten Morgen!

So were still missing a few of the Euro thread regulars here. I think we need to let off a smoke signal bomb or form a posse or something.

Morning all.

Been a shit few days. We have two cats, the older one, Hobie is 18 years old and diabetic. On Sunday he had a hypoglycaemic fit. I was there at the time so got dextrose straight into him and looked after him and he recovered pretty quickly in few minutes. He went to the vets for a check on Monday where it was arranged to take him in for monitoring all day on Friday to establish a blood sugar baseline.

Yesterday morning woke up to find he wasn't on our bed where he normally sleeps. Came downstairs to find him in a bad way on the kitchen floor. He'd obviously had another fit at some point not long before I'd found him. Took him into the vets who kept him in all day and monitored his blood sugar which gradually came back up during the day. He was well enough to come home at the end of the day but still has to go back in for monitoring for the day on Friday. If his blood sugar level behaves as expected after he's been off insulin for a couple of days then it may just be a matter of re-setting the dosage we give him. If it's all over the shop then there is something else seriously wrong and there won't be anything else that can realistically be done for him and he'll have to be put to sleep.

The wife has had him longer than we've been together, and was in pieces over this yesterday. Before I met her, he was the only constant in a really shitty time in her life so she is really attached to him. If it goes badly for Hobie on Friday, then it's going to be really rough for her.

We, too, have a much-loved elderly (17) and sick (daily thyroid and kidney function medications - £90/month plus regular, and expensive, blood testing  ) cat. Muchas mojos (or some such gibberish) :thu:

cat mojo.

So it looks like after I work out I might actually get to enjoy the hammock as nature intended aka not in the middle of my living room :embarrassed:

Thanks for all the thoughts guys. Unfortunately Hobie deterioated this evening and had to be put sleep.

Sleep well Hobie, you'll be missed.

I have two cats at the mo, both in good health. However my last cat, Trigger not only had kidnay failure but was then intentionally poisoned by a neighbour. Never found out who.

Hes buried at the end of my in laws garden. Cant go there wthout missing him a bit.

Im sure Hobie will be missed too. Goodnight little fellah.

Chin up Gorgon, the other cat needs you!

RIP Hobie. Sympathy to the Gorgons.

While I was thinking about dead cats, I accidentally let my pot of coffee boil and now it tastes like shit.

@Acadia: Bastard cat-poisoners.   One wonders what kind of people do that shit. A few years ago one of our previous cats suddenly developed an odd lump on the top of his skull, right between the ears. Took him to the vet who opened it up and removed... a fucking air-gun pellet! I'm a lover not a fighter, but if I had found the culprit I would have cheerfully fucked them!

Morning all, thanks for the well wishes. It hits me when I'm doing normal routine things like getting the cat food ready. I had to remind myself not to get a second dish out or prepare his medicine this morning and it was just like - "Aw, shit..."

It's hitting the wife and son harder. Hobie was mainly the wife's cat as I said before and it's the first loss our son's experienced. At least I know my son is an animal lover and will not abuse them.

@Acadiafall and @the_huge - People who abuse animals should be castrated with a rusty guitar string. Put the peg end of the string through the loop by the ball end and pull.

It seems to be pretty common, cat and dog poisoning. Its just bizarre and I too would quite gladly skin the persons responsible.

Look at that woman last year or whenever, putting that cat into the bin. Just incredible.
