Well, news update from the Wok camp:

1. We are moving into our new abode next month
2. Have my eye on a new (used) car, will go and have a word with the dealer tonight

So if all goes well, in a few weeks I will be happy and totally skint :embarrassed:

What happened? Who farted?

I spent saturday night in Hamburg where me and the misses went to see "Queen - Heaven" (or something like that) at the Hamburg Planetarium. It was AWESOME! You had a bit of the usual traveling through space etc but all set to very loud Queen music. It was a mixture of space and Queen videos and live clips. Introduced by Brian May (on the screen, or roof or whatever) it was 75 minutes of brilliance.

Plus I had a comfy reclining chair to stare at the ceiling with. It was a mixture of projected images, lasers and that smokey dry ice stuff.

Very impressive indeed. Pmc would have loved it.
 
So I went for not one but 2 teaching interviews this morning.

I shant say where these inbred tractor shagging fuckwits reside but needless to say the fucking 70 odd mile round trip could have been saved if they'd told me before hand that what they actually wanted was someone to come in and spout abstract interview buzzword bullshit instead of actually explaining what they do and can bring to the table.

I shit you not at one point when getting feedback fro the headmaster he said: "You focused too much on the children and the impact of your teaching experience."

HEAVEN FUCKING FORBID A TEACHER TALKS ABOUT THE CHILDREN AND HOW WHAT I TEACH POSITIVELY IMPACTS THEIR LEARNING!!!!

They actually would prefer someone to come in and spout out interview shit they've learned by rote than someone who can actually demonstrate and talk about what they do????

Fuck it. it's given me a reasonable excuse to quench my perishing thirst this Monday evening.

It's fucking ridiculous though. It's akin to interviewing a mechanic and going for the guy who can tell you everything that happened in last nights Top Gear instead of the guy who can tell you how to swap out an engine.

Im sure I've just been unlucky but I've had two Renaults (5 and Megane) and both were shitty pieces of shit. Not the design or the performance. They just broke down, constantly.

Im looking for a new (used) car now as my Ford Fiesta has almost died. So need one fairly quick. Ive seen a few Renaults in my price range but Im NEVER getting another one.

Like I say I think I've just been unlucky but Im not going to take the risk.

Plus, they're French.
