Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Or a non-Scot.

Would love to visit Scotland and Ireland sometime though. Bucket list stuff and all that jazz.
Haven't had the chance to go further north than Newcastle this far. :embarrassed:

Newcastle is a shitehole. No need to be there unless you are on a stag party.

Btw, a new Euro member on this forum and no post here yet? WTF?

Was there for a football game once...

Guessing the new guy hasn't seen it yet. It does tend to sink on weekends. :embarrassed:

Just had my thesis presentation. One evaluator was a fucking dipshit who kept whining about something completely irrelevant, and then continued to make no point whatsoever. He's a neuroscientist, and I guess he just completely misunderstood the intention of my thesis. But he accepted the thesis at least. Other evaluator was very positive. Head of department was positive, supervisor was positive. So I guess I'm a master of arts now. A few refreshing lager beers will be consumed today.

Congrats!

My day was less positive. Didn’t get job I was sure was in the bag. Great interview, great rapport, already discussing work... However, I was overqualified, they were afraid I would not stay long in the job... *sigh*

I’d rather they had told me I am useless

You are useless

[/HELPING]

Sorry it didn't work out. Job hunting is annoying as fuck and largely random in my experience. You just have to keep trying until the dice rolls your way.

Sorry about that, wok. Just before I applied for this job, I applied for one that paid about half, and I never even heard back from them. I'm convinced it was cos they thought I was overqualified, but at the time I was pretty pissed off about it cos I couldn't find anything else being advertised that I was qualified for. Lo and behold, this job came up a week or two later and I'm so glad now that I didn't get that other job.

That said, I know how shit you feel right now. Sorry.

I am sure I'll get a decent job soon, it's just frustrating that I have to keep doing something I hate for the time being. thanks for the support guys!

Sucks about the job @wok ... I got that "overqualified" bullshit once when I was desperate both emotionally and financially. Could've murdered the fuckers. Ended up fine with getting a way nicer job 2 weeks later, but still... Hope you find something nice very soon.

Anyway, got the grade for my thesis. 4/5, which is cool with me. One of my evaluators actually gave me a maximum score 0.o...

Now I'm going to do fuck all for a week, the GF is leaving for NL for 10 days tomorrow, so I'll be spending my time hanging with friends, drinking REFRESHING LAGER BEER and probably play tons of videogames. And I have one video to edit, but that shouldn't take more than half a day.

What a great day off today: a bit of tidying, a but if guitar playing, made burgers complete with homemade guacamole, fried red onion and cheese, now lying on sofa next to radiator savouring a WARMING STOUT beer

Sounds great :)

My week of doing fuck all while the GF is gone is right on track. So far I've been playing videogames, drinking beer with friends and editing some videos that were on the "no priority" pile. Probably gonna work on a website for a festival for a bit when I get bored. Pretty chill so far, I feel I'm finally getting rid of the insane amount of stress buildup from the last 4 months. It started to manifest in physical symptoms, which is always a great sign.

Anyway, my parents are coming over for my graduation ceremony, as they've missed the one for my bachelor and they've never been here together. Should be fun.
