Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Significant amount of wine was consumed on NYE and it was good. New Year's Day was a bit 'fragile', particularly for the wife, so we spent it binge watching the first season of The Man In The High Castle on Amazon Prime Video. Good way to chill out for the day and good series.

happy new year guys!

Worked 3 nights on the taxi. I am exhausted but made quite a bit of money. Mind you, soon all that won't be worth much anymore :embarrassed:

At work now

At least we had the latest batch of work/homebrew delivered. Will crack into them later :thu:

My last day off and I'm still feeling a bit gunky - the 5 pints and bottle of prossecco probably didn't help right enough  :embarrassed:

Grrr MOT.... turns out that one cilinder is not firing. I can expect a bill of £1000+ :(

Plus I wont have car for a week.

Great start to 2017

@wok - car mojo. As I run older cars, that's time to ditch and buy something else in my book. YMMV.

Plus is that not just something like a new coil pack/ignition coil? Cost about £80 from the AA when I had one die.

Well, they need to take the engine apart apparently and they arent yet sure what they will find. Then full MOT and service. I hope it's not going to be more than a few hundred quid

An MOT and service is going to cost you £200 before you start with labour to take the engine apart and fixing the bloody thing. :mojo:

Unrelated but to put shitty situations into a slightly better perspective - 1st day back at work and the depute came round to tell everyone one of our 2nd year pupils dad's passed away on Hogmanay.

The guy was a complete shithead and horrible to the boy and his wife but it's still the kid's dad. We were filled in more later on - mum and dad are separated - he was at dad's house on New Years and he collapsed with a heart attack. Kid phoned the ambulance who then took the dad away and left him in the house alone! (he's 14 and clearly that young!!!) before mum managed to come and collect him. Dad died on the way to the hospital.

Yes, and no glaswegian casuals in sight

You just reminded me of a story from my first teaching job.

The headmaster had been one of my old PE teachers and mid way through a spiel in some high powered meeting he turned to me and made a comment about the time I banjoed someone at lunchtime basketball club :embarrassed:
