Parked in my little town...

There's a crazy old French dude here in town that had a Parisian bakery for several years and also had a collection of Citroens. He would rotate 3 or 4 of them at a time to be on display out front. The bakery folded (no pun intended) but he's still around and still drives them all over town.

Somewhere I have pics of an old buddy's Renault Dauphine that I'd love to put up here. Jake loved that raging POS. Damned thing had more rust than the surface of Mars and looked like Hell. Ran like shit when it actually ran, but he refused to let it go. Last time I saw him or the car was the day he stopped by with it packed full of all he could carry to say goodbye before hitting the road to move to Texas. Not a word from him since. I'd love to know how far he got in it. I'd bet good money it didn't make it out of San Diego County under its own power, but no way in Hell did he drive that car to Texas successfully.

Ferrari has passed the Swiss MFK inspection without major incident and had the 30k kilometer service done at the Ferrari dealer in Geneve. MFK inspector thought the ball joints looked a little worn, even though Ferrari mechs didn't mention it, so they were replaced anyway. It is set for delivery the second week in July, as I am going to be out of town for the Austrian GP and a short vacation before then, and cannot make it to the pickup earlier. Longest weeks of my life, but it is now a done deal.

aw man that sucks. it would awesome to be able to drive it to the GP, and around town, etc.
pics, of course.

Fucking hell. Where is this? A dealership?
F1 in Austria. They have a VIP super car drive/demo area. Famous drivers take them out on the track, and chumps like me can pretend we can buy one and get a demo from the company reps. Not exactly “on the road”, but I thought you guys would like it.

Creeper shot, but someone had a BMW Z1 out and about. Pretty rare sight, even here in good old Deutschland.

A French guy I know who lives here but has dual citizenship has a red Z1 that he brought over about 25 years ago. I nearly shat myself the first time I saw it. At the time, it was the only one in the U.S. it might still be.

Last night on the main drag...

I actually sat in a Z1 at a dealership back when they were still being sold and I was waiting for a repair on my hoopty. I liked it, never quite understood why they didn't sell well. I guess the door concept was looked at sceptically, and it turns out rightfully so.

Funny, I saw a Morgan on the road a few days ago too.

I wonder if there is some Central Europe drive or club event going on and these guys are on their way home. I saw those four within about 2-3 km of highway between Graz and Vienna Austria.
