Meet Roy Beck. He is 95 years old and he drove this creamy 90K mile, 1976 Lincoln Mark IV from Wisconsin to Singer Island, FL...solo. Why? In his words, “pool time and a little dancing”. The man is a hero.
Straight gangsta. My grandfather had a copper/bronze Mark V and it was as big as a goddamn aircraft carrier.

my dad had 2 Mark III's, a Mark IV and a Mark V. the worst thing about them on long drives is that you have to try to stay awake. they're SO comfortable and stable that you tend to fall asleep. Land Yacht = set your course and take a nap. :bigg:

This just passed the bus stop I am waiting at. Got to love Switzerland.

Absolutely fucking stunning.

No lie, if I were to win the Powerball tomorrow I would seek out a Vantage in exactly that spec. A POW Vantage, a Daytona coupe, and something sensible to use as a daily driver. The end.

Good god, that's gorgeous.

I have a not so exciting video of it idling away from a stop behind a bus I can post if you want. You can hear some V8.

EDIT: Now with video!!!!

My dad bought a used '73 Mark IV just like this (including the pinstripes) in the mid-70's. It was huge!

in 1974 i was working a summer job at the local Lincoln Mercury dealer in Sharon Pa. (owner was a friend of my dad, that's how i got the job). in any case, a silver one got stolen off the lot one night, and a month later the police found it in a parking in Albany NY. so they sent me up there to get it from the cops and drive it back, 470 miles, took 2 days because when i got there the cops said i had to wait until the FBI released to me and that was late in the afternoon and i wasn't driving all night after the plane ride up there.

the feds asked me to pop the trunk, since i had the keys, and there was all kinds of bearer bonds and stocks, etc. the feds eyes lit up when they saw all that stuff.

man, talk about riding on a cloud. big ass 460 c.i. you seriously could set the cruise and nod off.

In the parking lot, and on the way home yesterday after yet another highly unpleasant Contrast MRI on my right hip. I didn't bother with the multiple Maseratis, 3 different new Alfa Romeo Stelvios, 2 Alfa Giulias, or the gazillion other Porsches.

New model 911 in Vienna last night. The car is covered with random signatures and graffiti. It was parked in front of my hotel and is an advertising piece. Porsche seems to think people staying at the Ritz Carlton might be potential buyers.

Cool thing about that finish - if someone rams you with a shopping cart, it won't even be noticeable.
