On the road!

My photo montage could be called "normal Tuesday in Monte Carlo".
All very nice, but I'll stick with the old one that nobody wants.

Very cool. That's #5161 GT, built in February 1963. — "A prototype which was heavily crashed during early road testing (NOT at Fiorano, that track didn't exist yet). Original color Avorio (ivory) with red interior. The wreck was never repaired, and it was never sold by the factory. It was scrapped. Many moons later somebody built a fantasy car, apparently using the ID of 5161 GT."

Also: "The first prototype of the 275 GTB was studied during the year 1963, at the same time as the 250 LM. The first berlinetta was conceived with a 250 engine on chassis number 5161GT."

Is that a Portifino?
Front engine Ferraris are drop dead sexy.
That is not a Portofino. That's the original version of the Cali—the giveaway is the fat ass and the silly looking vertically stacked exhaust. That was the subject of a facelift in the next version (California T), and the successor to that—the Portofino—is what's currently on the market.

If I was going to buy a front engine Ferrari I would get a 612. I dig the subtle styling, V12, real 2+2 configuration, and alloy construction. I know many consider it to be one of the ugliest Ferraris, but I still really like it and the idea of a GT format Ferrari and the 612 really works for me. I can never get why people think this is ugly, other than it is a bit plain and lacks the vents, slats, wings, and the like of the "bedroom poster" model Ferraris. It is more like a grown up Ferrari. I think the design's clean lines and homage to the 375 mm will make the 612 be seen as a real classic in a few decades. This one is for sale not too far from me. My wife mentioned it to me when she was getting the summer tires put on our station wagon as it was sitting in the showroom/waiting area. She didn't sound like she would protest too much if I asked some questions.

The Monza SP1/2's look like fun on roads without bugs or trucks that kick gravel in your face.

Not so much "on the road" as "in the parking lot", but it's a random spotting in the wild.

I'm happy to report that the thirteen-year-old me who was prone to suffering a face melting cerebral hemorrhage at the unexpected sight of a random 246 Dino is still alive and well.
