Stole this off FB. It's probably been listed before, but WTH...

The author is listed as unknown, however, look at how many of the positive points in this essay have now been attacked or reversed in this Chump GOP regime. It's heartbreaking.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of coffee, he
takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised.

All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs.
Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body
and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joes employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union.

If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think
he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

Its noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills.
Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his
lifetime.

Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety
standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.

He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.

Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of
themselves, just like I have."

Perfect!
Conservatives have been on the wrong side of history forever. The fact that people don't get that boggles the mind.

Where I live, Joe is on disability and hates all the coloreds and Mexicans for taking away his job that he no longer will do. You can find Joe playing in the adult softball league, teaching youth karate, driving around in his confederate flag adorned bro truck, or out fishing on his tax payer subsidized boat. He hates you because you are not a real American.

i don't know about forever. Teddy was on the right side of most things. he was FOR pasturized milk for kids because it was safer. he was FOR national parks/monuments. he was FOR taking down monoplies and millionaires. he was FOR a 40 work week.

i don't know when shit went in the dumper, or whether he was a gigantic anomoly.

Umm... Teddy was a progressive, even founded the progressive "Bull Moose" party. And the Republicans back then are Dems now.
he was a Rep before forming the bull moose party. it's how he became the NYC commissioner of police. and then he went after all the big business bosses as a rep. which is how he got recommended by the big bosses to be the VP because they all thought he'd be pretty powerless in that slot and he was electable. they never counted on McKinley being shot and dying. then suddenly, he was the most powerful man in the world, much to the bosses horror.

the point is that he was a Rep for a long time before the bull moose party. sure he had quite progressive ideas, some of the pretty liberal. i'm just saying that Rep's weren't all and always agents for greed and evil.

To become law, Trumpcare has to go through 4 additional steps:

1. Pass an amended version in the Senate
2. Go to “conference“ to hammer out differences between the House and Senate
3. Pass in the House again
4. Pass in the Senate again

howie already kind of addressed this, but CBO isn't going to let the current house version go, because it adds to the deficit and it can't do that as a budget reconcilliation, which is how they are 'modifying' ACA. (which is what they are really doing). the senate knows this and IS working on it's own version, which they may or may not get the votes on, but if they do, as a reconcilliation of the bill they will send it back down to the house for approval (which will be a rubber stamp) and on to the cheeto, which will also be a rubber stamp.

but the fly in the ointment is that the senate WILL have to vote on it and that brings in the Dems.

Im aware of all this. I'm saying that the reps were the "liberals" before the civil rights movement as is well documented. I'm sure you knew that though, they would spit in his and Eisenhower's face these days. Probably Reagan too, though they idolize him. 75 % of the neocons that idolize him probably only know that he bombed Qaddafi, and if you asked them if we should do it next week would answer a sound yes, although he's long dead.

"Reagan was disappointed in Obama care and could have done something about it."

When do we get to find out what the CBO has to say about the latest iteration of TrumpCare?
