Ahh, the good old days.

Kendall Fuller and a 3rd round pick? They would have been better off grabbing whoever Minnesota doesn't resign or waiting for the Chiefs to release Smith.

Skins will receive a 3rd round compensatory pick when Cousins signs. The trade is essentially Fuller for Smith.

The best healthy QB in the NFC East is a Redskin...and he’s under contract.

They could have given up nothing, and signed the man who beat out Smith in San Fran. I also don't think I'd say Smith is better than Eli.

Remember how well it worked out last time Andy Reid traded us a QB.

He hitched his wagon to Kevin Kolb, went 4-12, got fired and hasn’t won a playoff game since.

Meanwhile, the Redskins drafted RG and KC and won the best division in football twice.

Moving on...

2 sub .500 teams is the best division in football? If you say so.

I’m not clear, is the drafting of RGIII good in your view?

That about sums it up.

I like Alex Smith. My brother and I were talking about it last night before we had any idea they would be a trade. We both thought, of all the potential Cousins replacements, Smith was the best. The only downside, is Smith, when good, has had a great running game and a good defense. The skins have no running game and just let one of their best up and coming defensive players go in the trade (who btw was told last night, by the skins that he was safe and wasn't up for trade) and lost a pick for this year. Yes, they will get one back for 2019, when Cousins signs elsewhere, but they would have gotten that pick even if there was no trade and Cousins left. Let's hope with the money they save they can snag some free agents to fill the holes.

Let's hold off on the sinking ship until after the draft and free agency. Let's just say I'm standing on the ships bow and I see what may be an iceberg ahead. Maybe there is time to steer clear, but chances are, we are going down

That’s a lot of scratch. Hopefully that doesn’t hinder them from adding some more pieces to the team.

They have quite a bit of room under the salary cap. They should be able to sign at least 2 free agents with some room left over. I know it's a lot of money for an 'unproven' QB, but I haven't seen a player with his kind of impact on the niners for a long, long time. Had the niners merely tagged him as a franchise player and waited a year, I believe the price to keep him (assuming he isn't a bust) would be significantly higher as other teams see what he has to offer. This was the time to lock him in. Just hope all the hype and hope doesn't turn out to be misplaced, but I am convinced he's the real deal and future of the team.

Franchising him and waiting is not a good plan. That blew up in our face. Hopefully they structured the contract so they can ditch him if he ends up sucking.

  • tombradyIt has taken me a few days to reflect on our SB loss as well as the great season our team had. There are many emotions when you come up short of your goal. And they are all part of learning and growing in this journey of life. Learning turns everything into a postitive. And the number one feeling I have had the past 4 days is gratitude. Gratitude to my teammates for the incredible effort given all season regardless of the challenges we faced.
Gratitude toward my coaches for the effort and sacrifice they make to put us players in the best position to win.
Gratitude to the NEP organization for supporting us on our very challenging and difficult journey.
Gratitude to the Philadelphia Eagles team and organization for bringing out the best in us and being gracious winners (as well as congratulations on winning the championship)
Gratitude toward our fans who showed up every week to cheer us on and commit their time and energy and love and support to what our goals are.
And gratitude to my family and friends who continue to love and support my dreams.
Thank you all. I love you all.
    Best, Tom
