National Football League 2018

I don't have it out for Russ Wilson - more like trying to make a point.

However, as I sat on the toilet this past weekend, it seemed that social media platforms were aflame about his gal's ex claiming that Russ was a bit of a homewrecker. Which, you know: with all the JESUS IS MY BES FREN shit, makes me think he's an enormous hypocrite.

There is one point on which we MUST agree, though: we should never, ever, ever cite ESPN as having journalistic credibility.
My point there is there is no dispute that he does good things in his community. I searched for something such as you were hinting at, and found nothing reported. And he has had rumors about him before, as I referenced above, and which were refuted by Nate. Nothing substantial or verified has stuck. Some girlfriend's ex is hardly an impartial or journalistic source either.

I do agree there needs to be perspective with regard to ol Tom. and I have said before I respect what he and his team have been able to do. But you were talking about likeable, etc. I have never cared for his demeanor. Doesn't take away from his accomplishments though. And though he has some associations with bad guys (I hope Meuller and team don't pay HIM a call (just kidding)), I have no reason to believe anything bad about him as a human other than distasteful (to me) demeanor. He certainly has worked hard.

Dude. Take a chill pill already.

I'd concede readily that TB is arguably the GOAT. The numbers don't lie. Unfortunately, he's thoroughly unlikable as a person. Maybe fandom blinds people from seeing the flaws in their heroes... you know, like a certain orange dude.

He has always come across as a smug elitist. I'm sure being the ridiculously dreamy guy he is drives both his smugness, and a good bit of the dislike for him. Sure, there's some jealousy involved no doubt, but that's not "why" he's a Douche Canoe. He earned that title all on his own.

BTW, while I wholly disagree with Philip Rivers' beliefs, a kinder, more genuine $100M QB you will never find. I have had many personal interactions with him, and he's a wonderful person that goes WAY above and beyond for the community. He's a Douche Canoe ON the field though.

I never noticed the smug thing from him but hearing haters say it while I was just a neutral observer changed me into a fan and on to a super fan. I even got rubber bands a couple of years ago to supplement my workout regimen after reading that he used them.

Taken by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the MLB draft way back 5 years before he was taken 199th overall by the Patriots. Damn, I love an underdog story. Backup takes over mid game and wins a Superbowl, goes on to be what he is now and the man isn't even finished...it's wild. Confidence and HARD WORK. I love it. I have seen him in many interviews and I am always waiting to see the smug...I never do though.

Hey, who knows...maybe he's the worst person off camera.

I had no problem whatsoever with Brady until a certain baseball hat appeared in his locker room. And some public statements as well. All pretty serious offences, of course.

But hating on specific athletes is, for me, counterproductive, when everyone should be hating on such a disgusting organization.

I also hated on the baseball hat. And then I started noticing - it's all of them. And by 'them,' I mean white quarterbacks. Much as I'm not a Seahawks fan, I do appreciate where a lot of their players are coming from.

I have an odd suspicion that Brady is oblivious (which is NOT an excuse, and hardly any better) and just wore his 'friend's' hat.

But Wentz .... Brees ... Peyton Manning .... I keep reading quotes that make me think, "what the FUCK is it with these dudes? Reactionary to the core."

It wasn't flashy but there were plenty of big plays. Huge D.

And as lacking as offense was...Brady with so many rings now...so many records ...just a huge accomplishment for the team.
