Kemper Gang?

I chatted with him when he first started pushing out profiles... got a few from him when they were free... and then he started his store. I kinda tuned him out for a bit because he was blowing up my mailbox with spam when he launched his store, but I have to say the quality of his packs have really elevated in the past year.

Some of the profiles have a really unpleasant high end that gets generated by the delay, after the first or second repeat. Adjusting the high cut gets rid of it.

But here’s the strange part, in headphones you barely hear it but when I’m running through a power amp into a guitar cab (cab sim off) it’s very noticeable before adjusting the high cut. Weird.

Probably an indication of how he creates/tests the profiles. The first ones I got from him sounded decent at bedroom levels or headphones, but sounded thin when cranked up. Michael Britt profiles on the other hand, sometimes sound like they don't have enough gain at low levels but completely SMOKE everything else as stage levels.

Better start saving for the powered Kabinet. I've heard the regular Kabinet in use and it does sound awesome. :embarrassed:
The Headrush FRFR I have isn't bad, but it doesn't quite do the same thing as a "proper" cabinet.

Holy shit. The fellow that sold me the Kemper Stage also gave me all his after market profiles via dropbox, Tone Junkie Everything Pack. Nearly 5,000 profiles!!!!!

Ya and one of the first few I opened is an incredible 62 Deluxe Reverb. I set the morph to crank the gain a little and gooooood daaaaaayum it's good.

They've got plenty of good ones. I got the Purple Plexi pack when that got released. Along with Britt and TAF, they're the good ones when it comes to profiling imo.
Most of the metal focused stuff out there sounds like shit imo and really doesn't translate well unless you use an oversized Mesa 4x12 cabinet.

Some interesting stuff brewing it looks like, looks like a Rig Manager app for ipads/similar devices.
No idea how they solve the connection bit though. Some sort of wifi adapter for the network port perhaps?

62 Deluxe Reverb

A month late, but...

YAY... and Dammit.... Can't wait to try this out, since i have a Stage and a couple different iPad mic stands.... but I have three gigs this week.... so I'm not going to risk dorking anything up by making any mods this week. It's bad enough I had to change the nut on my Thorn this weekend!!! Going to hit the strobe tuner and allen wrenches tonight to make sure I'm ready for the 4:embarrassed:0 sound check tomorrow. :embarrassed:

Many devices come and go with software or company support fading away... but the Kemper is the gift that keeps on giving!!!

So I'm going to update my Kemper and download this software this week.... anything new in particular I should look for @Dexter Inferno ?

Also... It's kinda funny but I keep looking for this thread in the Pedalboard channel since I have the floorboard, but then I remember that it's technically a "head" for most Kemper users. :embarrassed:

One mod I may have to do on all of my patches is move a couple of the effects around in the chain (like bump the reverbs and delays further up the chain) so the last effect in the chain is the FX loop, and get my Looper right there at the end of the chain.

I also bought my Boice Box before I owned the Kemper, so I didn't size it with that in mind. The Kemper by itself can fit in my small Boicebox, but right now I have it in my wider one and the looper can fit when turned at a 90 degree angle. If I make a little wooden plate and use 3M Dual Lock on it, I could hinge one corner and have the looper rotate out like a little side car. :baimun:

Last couple of updates have mostly been bugfixes iirc. Can't say I've noticed much of a difference. :embarrassed:

Adding the FX loop should be an easy edit. Just make a copy of everything first!

Probably easier to do this through rig manager than the board itself

Yeah, I was thinking of duplicating the entire 5 rig scene for the Grooveheads and the 5 rig scene for SandbarBums and making Groove_Loop and SBB_Loop.

Just wanted to update... yeah the FX loop was an easy add. The only funky thing is that by putting it at the end of the line, I had to move my Reverb to the Delay Spot... and the Delay to the Modulation spot... and the Modulation to the "X" spot.... so I feel like I need to make a custom label with all that shit marked correctly :embarrassed:

Ooooh... maybe I could make an Orange Themed Sticker for my Kemper Stage... with no writing... just the fucking Hieroglyphs.

Routing question:

Running the two xlr main outs into my Line6 UX2 interface. I'd like to ALSO capture the unprocessed guitar signal. The UX2 has an available instrument in, but is there a way to get the dry guitar signal out of the Kemper stage?
