Give me something to watch on Netflix

Book of Boba Fett is exactly what my 9 year old and I wanted. The most recent episode was a Mando tie in that was incredibly enjoyable. Watching these two shows elicits the exact same feeling I had as a young lad watching shows like V and The A Team. This is the way

I just finished the season last night
I enjoyed the series but they do pull a Lost or maybe a GOT.

They did a great job building the plot & high suspense through the first 6 episodes...but then in 7 takes a detour w/ a historical flashback episode. That episode just kills all that suspense you spent the prior 6 building.

Episode 8 is pure deus ex machina; a convenience to get from where they left off in 6 to where they need to be at the end of this season to set the stage for season 2. They throw a bunch of quick & dirty explanations for a few plot points, toss in some action and call it good.

I just finished the season, it was pretty good and scary I thought

I’ve been watching The Wheel of Time. It’s good, not great. It’s better than Game of Thrones; not much royalty speechifying at each other, so it’s relatable rather than being a prime time soap. It clearly has a bigger budget, because the sets are better with more outdoor shots that HBO wouldn’t have paid for. But the acting isn’t nearly as good.

Asiz Ansari’s new standup special on Netflix is really good. Filmed last month, topical and intelligent.

Ricky Gervais’ After Life is dark, sad, and funny.

Did you read the books?

Fans of the books seem to have a much more favorable review of the show than those who have not.

I am really late to the party with this one, but I've just binged all of the 2016 BBC adaptation of War and Peace. It was excellent, particularly Paul Dano's performance.

Didn’t even know that this existed.

I’d rewatched the massive 60s Soviet adaptation last year, and it’s pretty damn great. I liked it a lot more than I did in my teens.

Anybody else not digging season 2 of The Righteous Gemstones? It's still funny, and worth watching. But to me, it went from kind of goofy fun over-the-top to kind of heavy, sad over-the-top.

The kids were acting like such huge assholes the last episode that it went from being funny to being aggravating.

I've run into the exact opposite. The only 3 people I know who've read the books say the show is a hot pile of garbage

I think you'd really like this recent adaptation. It's got tremendous ensemble performances. Heck, the sets and costuming are worth the admission. It's sumptuous.

The latest Uncle Baby Billy stuff was just depressing. But Judy's show-down with BJ's sister in the ladies room was wonderfully deranged.

My coworkers, who are fans of the books, are delighted someone turned it into a series. Then rest of us are somewhat less enamored with it.

I thought it was ok.

I've been watching Midnight Mass, so far just the first three episodes. Don't know what to make of it so far though there are some good performers in it.

I am on book 11. I am enjoying the show but my big complaint is they are speed running the time line and it makes for a lot of confusion until things start to settle down. For those who have not read the books, I can't imagine how they are even following it. There has been very little character development and a lot of character introduction.

I had no idea it was based on a book until after I watched the show. I had no problem following it. I was at my neighbor's last weekend watching football and his son asked me if I was watching the show and if I liked it. When I told him I finished it and liked it, he said I must not have read the books because the show blows compared to the books, then his dad and a few other people there said the same thing

After watching Game of Thrones without reading the books, following this is a cakewalk
