Give me something to watch on Netflix

I was bored last night, so I went to Tubi TV to see if they've added anything interesting. Holy bong water! They have an animated Freak Brothers show! I've known that various folks have been working on bringing the Freak Brothers to the screen (including one terrifying CGI abomination), but had no idea it had actually come to fruition.

John Goodman voices Fat Freddy. Woody Harrelson voices Freewheelin' Franklin, and Pet Davidson voice Phineas. Oddly, they have F Fredrick Skitty (Fat Freddy's cat) as a female voiced by Tiffany Haddish.

The plot is pretty stupid. Some magic drugs puts the crew in suspended animation until present day. I guess it offers endless possibilities to the writers, but it seem pretty silly having them in modern times.

And Tubi has commercials. Lots of them. I really wish they'd offer a paid no commercials plan.

Wow! I'd love to see that. But Freddy's cat is a male. It's ridiculous that they'd change that.

Yes!

I'm Fat Freddy Scat and I'm so full of piss
If I don't like your looks I'll hit you with this!
*brandishes claws*

Of course a fem cat could say that I guess...but Wiki sez "Fat Freddy's Cat is a fictional orange tomcat" so it's gotta be true.

Not sure where to find it in other countries but Prime in the UK has Dave Grohl's new documentary What Drives Us is pretty cool. It's a musicians view of playing live and touring. Lots of big name interviews as well as some lesser known bands still living out of vans. A hymn to playing live.

Oh and there is one cool tidbit of information. Apparently the first time Pat Smear ever went on tour was when he joined Nirvana. Even Dave was amazed by that!

What Drives Us looks great. Says unavailable for my prime subscription (US). I can’t tell if I need to subscribe to a specific channel or not from my phone

I watched it the other day. Follows Dave's usual documentary formula, but it's a good formula. I enjoyed it.

Thanks to whoever mentioned it.

Edit: Guess I just had to scroll up a bit to see it was pcm100

14 Peaks was a good watch. Nims Purja is a pretty amazing guy. Gurkha soldier, then an SBS special forces member, then a fricken force in high altitude mountaineering.

If the whole thing wasn't documented it would be hard to believe.

He fricken climbed Everest in a day, then Lhotse and Makalu in a total of just 48 hours. That is the first, fourth an fifth highest peaks on Earth, summited in TWO DAYS.

The new Sandra Bullock movie on Netflix is awful. Unless you need something to remind you of the pointlessness of it all, in a white trash life kinda way.

Inside Job was an amusing cartoon that I enjoyed. It is pretty derivative from other cartoons but I thought it was funny and not too heavy and it got some laughs.

I just watched the first episode of something called Saturday Morning All Star Hits (it showed up as the auto recommendation after the last episode of inside job finished playing) and I don’t know what the fuck I just watched. But may be in a good way? It made me kind of feel like I was having a stroke

Still loving Yellowjackets.

Any of you tried 1883?

Just finished the second episode, I am enjoying it very much. It's basically Taylor Sheridan does Lonesome Dove.

I was told to watch that, and something called The Alpinist, with my kid who is into climbing. And it looks like that one is on Netflix too.

Yellowjackets has been great. The next few episodes should be action packed.

I will check out 1883. We loved Lonesome and Return to Lonesome Dove.
