Give me something to watch on Netflix

I can see that. It actually takes me some time to recover after watching a block of episodes.

I agree that she gives a great performance. However, I never find myself sympathizing with her character at all. It's her own goddamn fault. She helped write the laws. She's a monster, and she deserves every awful thing that happens to her.
Oh I know, but she does a good job of showing that it grew into a monster that she couldn't conceive when she did.

In the end she still made her bed, so fuck the character.

Almost done with season 2 of Mr. Robot (amazon prime) and I can’t recommend it enough. Dark, thrills, crazy twists and surprises, great acting.

Cool music too.

Against my better judgement, I watched Without Remorse last night. It wasn't a bad movie, but the only thing from the book was the main character's names. I can't for the life of me understand why they'd pay the Clancy estate what was undoubtedly a huge amount of money for the movie rights and then use none of it.

So sad, too. Of the Clancy novels, Remorse was probably the easiest to adapt to a movie with little change.

That's indeed disappointing.

Okay, Ash vs Evil Dead series is some useless gory fun. Lucy Lawless is a good addition.

I'm on the third episode and enjoying it.

After recognizing Lucy Lawless before, I pick up with my Peaky Blinders episodes and who do I now see as a "new" character but Tom Hardy.

Cool viewings tonight.

Just about done with season one of Mr. Robot. It started out pretty good, but has turned into a soap opera. We are thinking about bailing after we finish the first season. Is there a good reason to keep investing more time in this series?

Yes. No spoilers, but finish season 1. You'll want to continue. The first half of season two is generally considered the weakest part of the whole show, though I enjoyed it. The rest of the show never quite hits the heights of season 1 but it stays consistently good and they nail the ending.

Having said that, season 1 could be treated a standalone mini-series and I would have been satisfied with it if they had never made another one.

EDIT: Oh, and season 4 has one of the best episodes of any TV show. Pine Barrens good.

We started watching Atypical last night and we're enjoying it so far.

They've done a really good job of capturing a lot of Autistic traits in the main character but unlike the Big Bang Theory it's not OTT. The show delves into what it's like for his friends and family members in a much more nuanced way than: "Sheldon just said another weird thing / misread the social cues / is self absorbed, that's SOOOOO annoying har har." I get that they're 2 completely different shows but it was nice to see it being handled a bit better.

The family stuff is great actually. The mum has built her life around supporting her son and struggles when he starts to not need her so much and the dad doesn't really understand his son or know how to have a relationship with him. I've seen that happen tonnes of times with families of the kids I teach so it's interesting to see it covered.

Speaking of BBT, I'm of the opinion that Young Sheldon is far better entertainment.

Speaking of Netflix, I watched The Intruder the other night. What a waste of some good acting by Dennis Quaid. Movie was frustratingly stoopiddumb plot wise.
