Give me something to watch on Netflix

Speaking of BBT, I'm of the opinion that Young Sheldon is far better entertainment.

Speaking of Netflix, I watched The Intruder the other night. What a waste of some good acting by Dennis Quaid. Movie was frustratingly stoopiddumb plot wise.

I've only seen bits of Young Sheldon. It seems a lot less "low hanging fruit" compared to the Big Bang Theory.

If no one has mentioned it yet, Bojack Horseman.

Decent music documentary series. Despite the name it covers a wide range of subjects in popular music. Pretty impressive list of interviewees in most of them.

It came out a few months ago. I can't under why Netflix's algo didn't pop it straight to the top of my list since I watch a lot of music docs. From the lack of coverage here I'm guessing it missed all you music nuts too

Watched A Classic Horror Story that comes from Italian Netflix. It was poorly dubbed to English as most films seem to be (Americans are far behind the Germans in this discipline), but I liked the idea behind it if not the actual execution.

I know they were going for a grittier take on the Anne Shirley stories, but it's particularly grim that the series ended on a little Mi'Kmaq girl being imprisoned in a residential school. It gives the feeling 'if you want to see how this plotline is resolved, check the recent news'.

No kidding. Anne of Green Gables has long been rose-coloured, especially given its author’s death from suicide.

Canada has a lot of problems, and a lot of shit has leaked up from the southern border.

But I’m glad that most Canadians and local governments decided against Canada Day celebrations, fireworks, etc., earlier this month. Which I can’t imagine happening in, um, other places.

I’m half native, and it’s fucked that I feel lucky/privileged to look white and to have blue eyes. My father, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, and some of my cousins did not share this ‘luck’, and some have consequently suffered depression, substance abuse, and even suicide as a fairly direct consequence of from racism and abuse.

Sometimes it makes me think that my Irish ancestors had it easy.

Netflix's algorithm isn't designed to show you what you might want to see. It is designed to show you material that that Netflix has already paid a fixed price for. The last thing Netflix wants is for you to watch material where they pay per view.

It's supposed to be a Netflix original so you'd think they'd push it as hard as possible

"Netflix Original" doesn't mean that Netflix made it (and thus owns it). They use that tag line for any content they they carry exclusively.

Anyone seen Blood Red Sky? A German aeroplane hijack cum vampire movie.

a weird combination, but it works with some great acting.
