I’m only a couple episodes into the new Stranger Things and it’s kinda lame. They should have made Steve Harrington the focus—he should be trying to relive his brief monster-fighting glory because he’s now a schlub working at the mall. He should be pestering the Goonies to get back together and “investigating” a whole bunch of spooky shit that doesn’t pan out until he hits on a real threat and they have to reluctantly get the gang back together.

Everyone should be OVER it except for Steve who is stuck reliving his one moment of youthful glory as his life gets depressing.

Harrington for prez!

Steve is the reason to watch ST....Steve Rawls!

Is anybody else getting Fast times at ridgemont high vide with the mall and all, or is it just me?

Finished Stranger Things and totally dug it...don’t understand the dislike, and maybe I have no chops whatsoever as a critic, but I did like it and looking forward to Stranger Things 4

I’m with you...it is what it is and it’s 80s retro so it’s good. I think some people just need to hate on things.

Stranger Things Season 3 was an absolute trainwreck and total disappointment. I had really high hopes and expectations going in. The long, long time between seasons 2 and 3 should have given everyone involved the opportunity to really do something special. Instead, we got 8 episodes of tired old tropes, countless cliches, and perhaps the laziest effort ever put to such a project. Seriously WTF? No imagination, no originality, no reason to ever watch a potential 4th season. Garbage. I'd be embarrassed to put my name on that shit heap.

I watched The Perfection a few days back.

This movie is the very definition of “extra”. They really go for it and I appreciate the effort.

A solid B+ if you like it weird.

Yep, that's pretty much precisely how I've always pictured it going down if I was to get "that lucky". That's how my luck goes.

I watched Fleabag on Amazon Prime. It was great. Now I am about 3/4 of the way through The Boys which has been decent enough for what it is.

We watched it through, it starts getting trippy after a couple of episodes, but not enough to make it very good. Just enough to make it something to watch to pass the time when you have a twisted ankle.

Anyway. Have recently watched and enjoyed the new seasons of both Derry Girls and GLOW, both on Netflix. GLOW has improved with each season.

Another Life is terrible. I was really hoping that Katee Sackhoff got the lead role in the good show she deserves, but nobody deserves writing that bad.

Street Food is a cool show that tells the stories of great Asian street food chefs.

If we're expanding to prime, I have three recommendations.

Movie - Suspiria. Maybe the best horror film of the decade.

Comedy - Rifftrax doing the movies ROTOR and Birdemic. It's what the mst3k guys do now. There are a lot of episodes on prime, even some live versions of things like Manos the Hands of Fate and Plan 9 from Outer Space.

TV Show - Absentia. A good original thriller that doesn't get enough attention.
