Give me something to watch on Netflix

My wife watched it. I'll have to ask her about it.

It has an interesting split between critics and audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes (Critics 96% vs Audience 58% liked).
It's captivating, but ultimately pretty stupid. There's just so many dumb things the writers pull out of their ass. And, I didn't realize there's a second season when I started watching it, so I was confused when everything unravels at the end of the last episode.

Trying to decide if I want to spring $17 to watch season 2 on Prime, or just wait until season two makes it to Netflix (season 3 airs in 2025 and Netflix is usually right at one season behind).

We enjoy it. They seem pretty stingy revealing things that happened after the crash. I'm not sure the writers know what happened yet. I will continue watching.

Speak No Evil 2024 is a remake of a 2022 Danish-Dutch film. It’s available as a rental and DVD/Blu-Ray purchase. I had no idea what to expect. Never saw the original. Anyway, the wife and I enjoyed it.

It’s not what I’d call horror. It’s a psychological suspense thriller in my book.

We started "Nobody Wants This". Got about three episodes in and can't take any more. It's a formulaic modern Hallmark movie. The only good part is the brother - he manages to be actually funny despite the AI generated script.

Do yourself a favor and don't watch "Dear Santa" on Paramount+. Somebody thought they could use ChatGPT to generate a trite and bland script and Jack Black's comedic skills and personality could somehow carry the whole movie. He tries hard, but it is still a flop.

Pretty sad about this. The premise is great (a dyslexic kid accidently sends his Christmas letter to Satan) and Satan (Jack Black) arrives to deliver. It could have been a pretty good flick if they'd have put any effort into it.

I'll stick to rewatching Christmas classics from the past, like Bad Santa (2003). Heart warming, holiday entertainment for the whole family.

Anyone watch Mr. McMahon? Interviewing him he’s sitting in a ring and it’s weird. Is that an AI McMahon or really him?
So obvious they were making a fluff piece on him, lightly brushíng over the facts that he raped and covered up murders, until the scandals got too big.

Finally got round to watching Zone of Interest and Anatomy of a Fall recently. Both really well written and acted dramas. They both won a ton of awards.

Neither is a light watch but Zone of Interest in particular is a must watch. Even Spielberg said it's the most important and best Holocaust movie since Schindler's List. It should be shown in schools.

Anatomy of a Fall was really powerful. It's often billed as a crime thriller but it's really not. Don't go in expecting twists, that's not what it's about. It's more about gradually revealing the complexities of people and their relationships.

Both actually starred the same main actress and she's terrific in both. Both released last year. She's had a moment!

I'm almost through the first season of Sandman on Netflix. It's not quite the graphic novel, but it's a nice way to revisit the story.
