Euro 2020 (in 2021)

And a bit of a tangent - last night’s Copa America semi between Colombia and Argentina was intense! The result was not what I wanted but I thoroughly enjoyed the match anyway.

Was an interesting game till the 60th minute or so. Denmark seems simply not fit enough to keep up. Even the subs looked completely destroyed after 90 minutes. Penalty was a bit so so, but considering the fact that Denmark hadn't been doing anything beyond clearing balls from their box for over half an hour it's not undeserved.

Really hoped for Denmark to take this one, but they just ran out of steam too early.

Totally agree with your analysis. My predictions from the get-go of this tournament were wrong. The Danish team didn't break mentally under pressure, but they just didn't have the stamina to keep up with the top-tiers.

Looking forward to the final. I love both countries equally much, so I can't decide which team I'd like to see win the more, and it may very well shift during the game.

England deserved to win tonight really. But not like that.
For me that is a clear dive. Not the first time Sterling has gone down very easily. Kane had a good attempt at stealing one earlier as well. Really hate that shit. :embarrassed:
Oh well.

Can't resist - I love this image:

Blech, this tournament is a big disappointment for me. Italy probably deserved to be in the final, but as usual anti-football had prevailed.

on a funny side note, when Denmark scored yesterday, half my street erupted in cheers

I dunno, it's a despicable act no doubt, as was the laser thing, but I still don't think we should let the few ruin it for the rest. There's a fine line between amicable, tongue-in-cheek taunt and tribalism and downright ugliness, and some people cross that line.

I actually thought the booing was sort of funny, though I do appreciate it's considered disrespectful and not at all gentlemanlike. On the other hand, imagine having 40.000 people booing at you and then you bury one deep into the back of their net from a distance.

Crunch time is approaching

I have had enough of moving and cleaning this weekend so I will be beering and watching

Go England

Tom Kerridge bbq marathon lads, don't post the score until I've had a chance to watch the match tomorrow eh? :embarrassed:

Mon England

I'm neutral, so shall be happy no matter how it turns out!

I was shocked to see Chiellini is actually over a year younger than my son. He looks 50!
