Baseball 2018

I thought he was going to the Cubs or Yankees. When did the Dodgers enter the picture?

The Dodgers payroll commitments for next year are well below the luxury tax threshold. They'll be in the mix for Harper. I think the Astros might make a run at him too. The Cubs will blow through the luxury tax threshold if they add Harper, and they may not want to do that. The ultimate dick move would be going to Philly, and their payroll is like $70mm now, so they have plenty of space to add.

I'd rather have Machado, fills a bigger need at 3B and will be marginally cheaper. But I wouldn't complain about either, it'll hold me over until Trout signs with us in 2020. :embarrassed:

Wow

Cleveland 15 12 .556
Detroit 11 16 .407
Minnesota 9 15 .375
Chi White Sox 8 18 .308
Kansas City 7 21 .250

This is all that matters *spits* ....BEAT LA! and also the Douchebags will just fail come playoff time again, like always.

Hah! Yeah that happens once in a while, I think the Astros managed to bat out of order not too many years ago. Doing it in the first inning though, that's...special.

Jose Bautista to the Mets (again).
Condolences.

This happened because Cespedes is on the DL and Lagares is out for the year. Personally, I would have preferred a minor league deal. The Mets need to go with Conforto and Nimmo in CF & LF. But they have nobody to play in Vegas. Letting Bautista get his swing back in Vegas doesn't block anyone either. Now you've taken at bats away from major leaguers while not actually giving you any depth. It's stupid. And of course, he got a hit in his first at bat so he'll be here for at least a month. And who knows, in what's become a breaking ball league, he might find success if he can lay off the high heat. But I'm not holding my breath.

I admit I don't watch or follow baseball all the time. But I do love seeing good defensive plays. Also, cheering for the Mariners over the long haul is an exhausting business. But every once in a while, there are some tasty plays.
