Baseball 2018

Well I for one am loving the (defending NL champs) Dodgers trailing the (defending worst team in baseball) Giants.:grin: that's gotta smart. The Giants are playing well above their pay grade, while the bums continue to self immolate. panic0

And nobody really cares about the sox/yanks outside of the northeast. icon_conf

Actually, here in the ABQ there is virulent Sox-Yankees interest. I have no idea why, TBH.

And baseball fans will care, just as I care that the Dodgers stop pissing on their history.

Heat stroke causes all kinds of illogical behavior, so I am not too surprised

Mets are 10-1. They play the Brewers and Nationals next. So we'll see how they do against a real team and their only division rival now out for revenge.

Pedro would bean Judge like that; I think Kelly would, too. Of course, I don't think Judge is the sort of no-class bag of garbage that Tyler Austin is.

It will be funny for me to see how the media react to Austin punching a Sox coach in the face while he was being held by a teammate, vs. Pedro playing matador to Zimmer.

Don't think the media's NY-centric? Guess again. Austin ought to be suspended for a bunch of things:
- attempted spike on slide;
- charging mound;
- punching a coach in the face

... but he and Kelly will "both receive" similar suspensions.

As I was saying yesterday, the rivalry sure is heating up again. Haven't instinctively hated a Yankee like Austin since the days of Paul O'Neill.

When your living is made by your hands, you don't want to shatter any bones.

While I despise Odor, the dude knows how to trow a punch.

Well, except for the glove bitch slap combo.

Carlos Torres made one of the craziest plays I have ever seen while on the Mets.

That was cool, a 1-3-1?! :embarrassed:
In other news, the Mets have lost both of their MLB catchers in the past 24 hours. Travis d'Arnaud has a torn UCL, and will likely need Tommy John surgery. Kevin Plawecki was hit on the hand while batting, and has a fracture the team says will heal in 2-3 weeks, but will likely take 3 times that to actually heal. Amputation may be necessary.

Wow, that sucks. I'd go with the amputation.

My first broken bone was when a batting machine ball nailed my thumb in little league. My MLB days were over, but only because I already sucked at baseball.
