You can't blame them since it took 55 years to get there, and maybe another 55 years until the next one.

I'm certainly no Yankees fan, but like the Nationals and Dodgers, I expect them to heat up in short order. None of those teams will be as bad going forward as they have the past two weeks. Likewise, the Mets, Red Sox, Pirates, and Diamondbacks aren't as good as their records. I'm certainly enjoying the start to the season as a Mets fan, but it's not sustainable.

Meh. NY media is just a sports based gossip column. There's very little substance unless you're reading an SB Nation or other SABR based blog.
 
It's not the media; it's the player's ability to navigate it.

The Red Sox have had players (have a player - David Price) who have struggled due to the realities of day to day living under that type of microscope. Yankees, too. I'm delighted to see that Stanton is having a little entry shock.

I'm all about the game being played rather than the shenanigans surrounding it. He's under the Mendoza line with a wRC of 110. Make fun of him for that.
 
I think I'll make fun of him any ole way I like.

Right now, I look in his eyes and .... tick, tick, tick.

Great player, though. Eventually he'll revert towards the norm, and the nation will eagerly tune in for a resurgent Sox-Yankees rivalry. I haven't felt this much enmity for them since A-Rod got his clock wiped by Varitek.
