King Buffalo is playing in town tonight & Mike Watt is with Mike Baggetta & Stephen Hodges at a record store/part time venue down the street from my place. Decisions....
Well, which did you choose?
Saw Robyn Hitchcock last night in Santa Fe. He was ... as amazing as ever. Somehow, his playing has improved in his 60's; it was noticeably much more 'there' than in the past.
SITE Santa Fe had fancy Danish wooden chairs for 196; a good venue, if a bit antiseptic.
The song list avoided the trite whimsy and focused on the deeper material. Lots of people sniffling during "My Wife and My Dead Wife." The set was two hours; his harmonizing with his wife was lovely.
If you have a chance, go.
OK, so after seeing some YT vids from earlier in the tour, I have done a 180 and decided to shoot down to DC to catch Muse tonight. Gonna be an outrageous, yet awesome show, and thankfully they aren’t foregoing their harder rocking stuff. Will report later.
Just found out that Trower will be here playing at the House of Blues on the 27th of this month. Sent feelers out and it looks like at least 2 and maybe 4 buddies are going with me.
Should be a good time, as that old man still tears it up at 74.
DISTURBED!!!!!!!!!!!
