Welp...here’s something.

Just purchased my ticket for Social Distortion and Flogging Molly. I've seen both of these bands a handful of times over the past few years, so it will be great to see them on the same bill.

On a side note, fuck Ticket Master/Live Nation in their meathead faces. $40 in service fees for 2 tickets. The tickets were $34 each, then $20 of fees on top. That is freaking ridiculous.

I'm also gonna sang some tickets for the Lemonheads at the 930 club.

This is happening in July. (Probably not for me, though.)

Roxodus festival. Ontario, Canada.

Headliners listed first.

Not much of interest to me on the Thursday. Some I’d consider if I was waiting for a good headliner.
3 or 4 acts on Friday.
2, maybe 3 on Saturday
Maybe 1 on Sunday.

The ads on the radio sound a lot more exciting.

Saw BlackBerry Smoke last night at the Coast Crawfish Festival. Great show.
We had 3rd row seats. Knowing that, I took two pairs of ear plugs. I have dozens of those little packets in the car when I visit worksites that require them. Good thing. I wound up giving mine to a little girl whose mother decided to take her all the way up to the pit, which is in front of the front rows. The poor thing was holding both hands over her hears and in obvious pain.
I was beginning to think I was just getting too old for these live shows. We'd arrived at our reserved seats for the band that opened up for BBS (Hardy I think they were called, Jamey Johnson followed BBS as the headliner). This band had (imo) the worst sound guy I'd ever witnessed, had the levels way, way too loud. It was ridiculous. At the time, I was thinking, " well, if BBS is this loud, I'll deal with it" as I love their stuff. Thank god when they came out, the mix was much better, and not obnoxiously loud.

That said, that Friday Night at Roxodus looks like a Hesher Heaven par-tay!

(Why wasn't Matthew Good ever able to break in the US?)

I’m going to this in June.
It’s free. Geddy Lee is there doing a book signing. That’s not free but you’re basically just paying for the book.

Those guys came in and played a show for the kids on my wife’s unit when they came through town. It’s a pro-bono thing and they spent a ton of time with the kids and offered some free tickets to their show that night to the staff. Very generous with their personal time.
