2019 Concert thread

Saw King Crimson at the Wang in Boston last night on their 50th anniversary tour. Holy. Fucking. Shit. I'm working on inventing some new superlatives because existing ones are grossly inadequate to describe their playing.

Pic taken at the end of the show because no pics were allowed during the show per the band.

Every music fan should see Los Lobos at least once. You'll thank me.
They're more of a cohesive, honest to god band than just about any other group I can think of. They're parts of a machine and when they get that thing going it's almost telepathic. I've never see a bad Los Lobos show.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm heading out the door to see Dave Alvin.

Heading out to see Rancid, Pennywise and Suicidal Tendencies tomorrow night. Should be an awesome show.
Kick ass. The last time i saw Suicudal, they had Metalicas bass player. Cyco Miko lives 10 minutes away. Pennywise plays The Ventura Theatre too. That's where I saw S.T. Rancid is good as well

I’ve seen Pennywise a million times and saw Rancid with Dropkick Murphy’s last summer. Both are awesome live. I’ve never seen ST, and am really looking forward to them.

I have not seen Pennywise. I read the book 'It' about the clown Pennywise when it first came out. We saw the movie 'It the second chapter' this past weekend. It was good.

Los Lobos and Dave Alvin. Cool stuff. Now I feel bummed out that the only thing on my horizon is my buddy playing an open mic and maybe doing Roky Erickson's 'I have always been there before' in between his usual 'Brown-eyed Girl' and yowling originals. :(

One more thing. After the Suicidal Tendencies show, their singer Mike hung out by the exit and thanked people for coming as they walked by. He would answer quick questions too. It was very gracious of him.

Not that I would be able to go due to being away for work, but why is it I'm just finding out about this today??!??

"The Quality Rock & Roll Revue features soulful rock and roll songs from throughout Nick Lowe's career—including his biggest hits—as well as selections from two recent EPs recorded with Los Straitjackets. Los Straitjackets provide backup for Nick as well as perform a short segment of their own instrumental surf guitar twangers."

I missed him last time he was here, but I won't miss his show next time he comes around.

Oh man, Nick Lowe is a treasure. I've seen him with his touring band before Los Straitjackets and then I've caught him solo too and I'd leap at the opportunity to see him again.

Rancid, Pennywise and Suicidal Tendencies all kicked ass. I’m not sure when the last time I went to a show where all 3 bands knocked it out of the park like that.

Missed that one but saw Los Straitjackets with Marshall Crenshaw a few years ago. It exceeded my expectations.

Went and saw Masked Intruder, Direct Hit and Ramona last night. Never heard of any of the bands, but had fun. Masked Intruder were very entertaining.
